Altair announced that it will participate in the International Pharmaceutical and Bio Industry Exhibition 18 held at KINTEX, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do from the 21th to the 2023st, introducing technology that optimizes pharmaceutical test analysis and manufacturing processes.

Altair EDEM is a particle powder simulation widely used by global pharmaceutical companies. As more than 75% of pharmaceuticals are in powder form, the company plans to expand its business in the domestic pharmaceutical market in earnest by highlighting the need for fine powder process optimization technology.

In addition, data analysis solutions that utilize data and AI technology in the pharmaceutical bio industry will be introduced. Altair SLC is compatible with SAS language and open source languages such as Python, R, and SQL to support more free R&D. Along with this, Altair Rapid Miner, which includes massive data preprocessing, machine learning and visualization technologies, will be introduced.

In particular, AI technology is attracting attention as a technology that can reduce the cycle and cost of new drug development, but it is realistically difficult to secure personnel with both an understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing and AI technology capabilities. An Altair official said that it plans to also provide a Center of Excellence (CoE), an internal manpower AI capacity building program, to solve these problems.

On the 19th, on the 3rd floor of KINTEX, senior researcher Mikyung Yang of Altair will present an optimized pharmaceutical process process, a plan to optimize accumulated resources, and a data analysis platform that can utilize accumulated data under the theme of ‘Digital Twin of Pharmaceutical Process’.

“At this exhibition, we plan to further expand our business as an AI-specialized company by introducing products that combine AI technology and simulation, a new paradigm in bio manufacturing,” said Yoo Eun-ha, branch manager of Altair Korea.
