Korea Expressway Corporation announced that it will participate in the ‘3 Seoul Mobility Show’, which will be held at KINTEX for a total of 31 days from March 4 to April 9.
Korea Expressway Corporation, a public corporation specializing in road transportation established in 1969, has a vision of being a ‘safe and convenient future transportation platform company’ and four core values: safety, innovation, empathy, and trust, to build safe smart roads and autonomous road infrastructure for everyone. It is contributing to the creation of future growth engines based on digital and eco-friendly technologies.
At this exhibition, Korea Expressway Corporation will hold a safety experience event for visitors. To this end, the corporation plans to install three seat belt experience machines (straight type, rotating type, and combined type) to help people become aware of the importance of seat belts.
Every year, many traffic accident deaths occur due to failure to wear seat belts. According to the Korea Expressway Corporation, 10 out of 3 deaths on highways are due to those not wearing seat belts, and the fatality rate increases 2.8 times for front seats and 3.7 times for back seats when seat belts are not worn.
Despite these risks, recent statistics show that the seat belt wearing rate by seat is 85% for the driver’s seat, 92% for the passenger seat, and 77% for the back seat. Regarding this, an official from the Korea Expressway Corporation said, “We plan to make people realize the importance of seat belts and encourage them to wear seat belts by allowing them to experience accidents by directly boarding a vehicle,” and added, “In particular, we want to provide intensive experience services to children, who are future drivers. “I do it,” he said.
Meanwhile, the 2023 Seoul Mobility Show will be held on the theme of ‘Sustainable Connected Mobility (Sustainable and Intelligent Mobility Revolution)’ at KINTEX Exhibition Hall 1 in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, starting with Press Day on March 3 (Thursday) and ending on April 30 ( days) to be held.
