Daegu Metropolitan City announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with KT Daegu Gyeongbuk Regional Headquarters at KT Plaza in Jung-gu, Daegu, for the Future Innovation Tech Expo 2024 (FIX 2024) and Climate Companion Shelter. The signing ceremony was attended by approximately 30 officials, including Jeong Jang-soo, the Vice Mayor for Economic Affairs of Daegu Metropolitan City, and Choi Si-hwan, the Executive Director of KT Daegu Gyeongbuk Regional Headquarters.

Daegu City and KT will provide promotional materials and guidance to citizens using the ‘Climate Companion Shelter’ to promote FIX 2024.

Scheduled from October 23 (Wednesday) to October 26 (Saturday), FIX 2024 at the Daegu EXCO will introduce the latest technologies and innovative solutions. Top domestic and international companies and experts in future industries, such as future mobility, robotics, semiconductors, and ICT, will participate under the theme “Innovative Technologies for a Better Future.”

FIX 2024 plans to combine previously separate events, such as the ‘Korea ICT Convergence Expo,’ ‘Daegu International Future Auto & Mobility Expo,’ ‘Daegu International Robot Industry Expo,’ and ‘Startup Arena’ into one large-scale event.

The expo will feature the ABB, Mobility, Robotics, and Startup Pavilion sections. ▲The ABB Pavilion (Korea ICT Convergence Expo) will focus on the latest ICT technologies, including AI, big data, blockchain, ICT, cybersecurity, semiconductors, and the metaverse. Various citizen experience services, such as smart factories, AI humans, wearable devices, and smart homes, will be provided.

▲The Mobility Pavilion (Korea Future Mobility Expo) will showcase the latest technologies across the mobility industry, including UAM, electric/hydrogen vehicles, autonomous driving, secondary batteries, and electrification components. ▲The Robotics Pavilion (Daegu International Robot Industry Expo) will introduce technologies related to manufacturing robots, food and beverage service robots, AI robots, delivery robots, and autonomous robots.

A key feature of FIX 2024 is its role as a platform for sharing ‘innovative technologies’ that will lead Korea’s future and discovering ‘world-leading technologies/companies.’ This will be linked through the Startup Arena, a festival of ICT ideas and startup competitions.

Hosted by global accelerator Plug and Play (PNP, USA), the ‘PNP Korea Expo’ will feature startup IR pitching and investment networking sessions with startups, partner companies, investors, and institutional officials participating. At the same time, the ‘Global Innovator Festa (GIF)’ will showcase technology exhibitions and product experiences by startups.

In addition, large-scale business programs such as new technology presentations, investment pitch sessions, export consultations, purchasing manager consultations with large companies and public institutions, the newly established Innovation Awards, the European Gaia-X (data industry) joint project presentation, a smart mobility startup camp, job fairs, and Daegu Night (networking) will also be held.

Jeong Jang-soo, Vice Mayor for Economic Affairs of Daegu Metropolitan City, stated, “We hope that the FIX 2024 public promotions and shelters will provide a valuable opportunity for Daegu City and KT to become closer to our citizens, and we ask for your strong support for the Future Innovation Technology Expo.”
