CM Global (CEO Shin Yunho) announced its participation in the ‘K-BATTERY SHOW 2024’, which will be held at KINTEX Exhibition Hall 1 in Goyang, Gyeonggi-do, from September 25 (Wednesday) to 27 (Friday).
CM operates under the chiller brand ‘Nicecool,’ which uses environmentally friendly refrigerants and avoids using copper in water pipes, positioning itself as an eco-friendly company. Since establishing a mass production system in 2018, the company has been exporting Nicecool chillers to major domestic companies, the US, Poland, and other parts of Europe, as well as to Vietnam, China, Malaysia, and other Asian regions.
In addition, CM launched an acid-resistant heat exchanger in 2017, achieving breakthroughs in overcoming the inefficiencies of PTFE tubes used mainly for temperature control of semiconductor chemicals. In 2018, CM created Korea’s first semiconductor HPS, and in 2020, it launched a Rack Mount Type chiller capable of temperature control within ±0.1℃, now in mass production.
CM has also launched and commercialized an ultra-compact (45x90x90cm), high-precision semiconductor ‘Heat Exchanger’ with a heat exchange capacity of 60kW and a temperature variance of ±0.1℃.
A representative from CM highlighted, “While the existing product with a volume of 240 liters has a cooling capacity of 15kW, the ‘Heat Exchanger’ offers a capacity of 60kW within a volume of 365 liters.” They added, “CM was the first to successfully domesticate chillers with a temperature variance of ±0.1℃ in the 1990s precision chiller market, which relied on imports. In 2000, CM was the first to launch an outdoor unit-separated chiller, creating a sensation in the research lab market seeking low noise.”
The ‘Heat Exchanger’ stands out not only for its heat exchange capacity but also for its ultra-precise temperature control. It is attracting attention specifically for its use with fluorine-based coolant, which is widely used in semiconductor processes.
CM also emphasized its ongoing investment in R&D, which has enhanced its expertise in chillers. By continuing to develop chillers suited to various industries, CM expects to expand its global customer share through the semiconductor-suitable and versatile ‘Heat Exchanger.’
The K-BATTERY SHOW represents the secondary battery industry leading the Fourth Industrial Revolution by integrating with future IT technologies such as the Internet of Things and artificial intelligence. It offers a variety of exhibits, including anode and cathode materials, separators, electrolytes, and other core secondary battery materials and components, providing a comprehensive view of the current and future state of the secondary battery specialized industry. It will be held concurrently with the Korea Material & Compound Material and Equipment Exhibition (K-Mtech), the specialized hydrogen industry exhibition H2 MEET, and the Korea International HVAC exhibition.
