Kakao Enterprise expands the NFT and Metaverse ecosystem and supports the establishment of a platform for companies to easily create and issue NFTs (non-fungible tokens).
Kakao Enterprise announced on the 14th that it signed a business agreement (MOU) with Clay Ape Club for the development of NFT and Metaverse platforms.
Clay Ape Club is a project team that issued Korea’s first NFT, ‘Ape NFT’, based on Klaytn developed by Ground X. We are actively engaged in alliance activities, including partnerships with more than 10 domestic project teams, and aim to build our own metaverse platform.
Based on this cooperation, both companies will cooperate to develop the NFT platform (NFTaaS) and Metaverse platform (MVaaS) by utilizing each company’s know-how and technology to expand the NFT and Metaverse ecosystem.
Currently, NFTs can only be issued by a few companies with specialized blockchain knowledge. Kakao Enterprise plans to jointly develop an NFT platform based on the corporate cloud ‘Kakao i Cloud’ and provide it in the form of a platform as a service (PaaS). The plan is to increase accessibility to the NFT business by allowing any company with an idea to directly produce and issue NFTs.
In addition to producing and issuing NFTs, we also provide the infrastructure necessary to develop and operate metaverse services using NFTs. We plan to actively support hosting services so that customer companies can open their own NFT communities within the platform and operate metaverse services.
Lee Dong-woo, senior vice president of Kakao Enterprise, said, “NFTs can be used in various industries in the future as well as life-related services. “By opening up an opportunity for any company to create and issue NFTs easily and conveniently with just an idea, it will ultimately contribute to popularizing the NFT business,” he said. “This agreement will establish best practices for domestic NFTs and DAO (decentralization).” “We plan to develop it together,” he said.
