Naver announced on the 4th that it will introduce ‘Connected Work’, a new work system that allows employees to freely choose their work style starting in July.

Starting in July, Naver employees will work semi-annually, taking into account themselves, the organization, and the status of ongoing projects, and work on either ‘Type O (Office-based Work)’, which is based on attending the office three or more days a week, and ‘Type R’, which is based on remote work. (Remote-based Work) You can freely choose your work type.

However, shared seating is provided so that those who choose ‘Type R’ can also work in the office if necessary.

In addition, we prepare a guide for situations where offline face-to-face meetings are essential, such as strengthening teamwork, quick adaptation of new employees, and cases where face-to-face meetings are essential for collaboration.

Since 2014, Naver has allowed individual employees to operate their work hours autonomously. This system significantly expands employees’ autonomy in their workspace, further strengthening Naver’s work culture based on ‘autonomy’, ‘responsibility’, and ‘trust’.

Naver CEO Choi Soo-yeon said, “Naver has created a trust-based, autonomous culture and the best performance by focusing on the more essential ‘intrinsic value of work’ rather than focusing on ‘when’ and ‘where’ one works,” adding, “Naver’s unique culture.” Based on this, we have introduced a new work system, and we will continue to focus on the ‘essence of work’ and explore various ways to help employees focus on their work in an optimal environment.”
