Nexon announced on the 16th that it will hold the ‘2022 Nexon Developer Conference (NDC22)’ event online from the 8th to the 10th of next month.
NDC22 will be held with a total of 60 sessions (55 public, 5 private) on topics such as game planning, programming, metaverse & non-fungible tokens (NFT). The keynote speech will be delivered by Nexon Chief Operating Officer (COO) Daehyun Kang. The topic is ‘Blockchain and the evolution of the virtual world.’
The core topic of this NDC22 is expected to center on blockchain and metaverse, which are recent hot topics in the gaming industry. Professor Kim Sang-gyun of Kyung Hee University and Professor Seung-soo Kim of Korea University, the top authorities on the metaverse in Korea, plan to discuss the direction to take in the changing gaming ecosystem.
First, Nexon’s COO (Chief Operating Officer) Daehyun Kang will give a keynote speech on the topic of ‘Blockchain and the evolution of the virtual world.’ Next, in the Metaverse & NFT session newly added to NDC22, domestic Metaverse authority Professor Sang-gyun Kim and blockchain expert Professor Seung-ju Kim will appear as speakers and discuss the direction to take in the changing gaming ecosystem.
In addition, game professionals from various genres participated from Nexon Companies such as Nexon Games, Nitro Studio, and Devcat, as well as NCSoft, Epic Games Korea, Krafton, and Devsisters, to develop cutting-edge technologies such as machine learning, AI (artificial intelligence), and Unreal Engine 5. We plan to give a wide range of lectures, from application know-how to career journey.
Lee Gyeong-hwan, Secretary General of Nexon NDC, said, “Considering the pandemic situation, it will be held online for the second year in a row, but we were able to prepare a variety of contents with the active participation of many people.” He added, “We will lead the future of the gaming industry together by acquiring the latest technological trends and know-how.” “I look forward to the opportunity to go,” he said.
The ‘Nexon Developer Conference (NDC)’, which celebrates its 15th anniversary this year, is Korea’s largest game industry knowledge sharing platform, where industry workers and officials share insights. Last year’s NDC, which was held online for the first time last year, ended successfully with a cumulative attendance of over 71,000.
