Naver D2SF (D2 Startup Factory) announced on the 26th that it has made new investments in ‘On the Look’ and ‘UnidComms’, startups that support online small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) scale-up.

On the Look is a fashion content platform optimized for each user’s taste, and UnidComs is a startup that developed an e-commerce operation and marketing automation solution.

On the Look operates a mobile platform that analyzes the user’s gender, height, preferred style, etc., recommends fashion content from creators appropriate for the user, and even links it to the purchase of related products. Users can quickly and easily search for products that suit their tastes, and SMEs and creators can secure more exposure opportunities. On the Look achieved 350,000 monthly active users (MAU) and a return visit rate of 65% just one year after the app was launched.

CEO Dae-beom Lee is a developer from Naver and is leading the growth of On the Look based on his extensive platform development experience. Devsisters Ventures and Hana Ventures jointly participated in this investment.

UnidComs developed ‘KeepGrow’, an e-commerce operation and marketing automation solution. It is an RPA (Robotic Process Automation) solution that automates e-commerce-related tasks, helping SMEs to run their business efficiently and grow with a small workforce.

Currently, we are providing 13 types of workbots for each task, including SNS channel management, member management, and first-time purchase induction marketing, and have achieved monthly sales of approximately 100 million won. In addition, we established a framework that allows one mid-level developer to develop and distribute workbots within 5 days, laying the foundation for quickly launching a wider variety of workbots.

The co-founders of UnidComs, including CEOs Jae-pil Yang and Hyeong-shin Jeon, are a team with a deep understanding of e-commerce practices and abundant experience, and are rapidly upgrading the solutions needed for e-commerce operations. CJ ENM Commerce Division, Kolon Investment, TS Investment, and Daekyung Investment participated in this investment.

Yang Sang-hwan, leader of Naver D2SF, said, “The two teams we newly invested in this time are commerce startups that help e-commerce SMEs scale up with IT technology,” and added, “We are also discussing various cooperation with related services such as Naver Commerce Solution Market, and we are discussing various cooperation with SMEs and startups. “We expect that the three parties, Up and Naver, will be able to create solid synergy,” he said.

Meanwhile, since the beginning of this year, Naver D2SF has discovered several startups that can create synergy with SMEs and is continuing active meetings from an investment and cooperation perspective. Among the existing invested startups, the teams supporting the scale-up of e-commerce SMEs include data analysis and business recommendation solution ‘Lapla Technologies’, SME brand aggregator ‘Newvessel’, data-based marketing automation solution ‘Datarise’, and ‘Adriel’, an online advertising optimization solution. Naver D2SF has invested in 92 technology startups since its launch in 2015.
