Kakao Enterprise announced on the 30th that it passed Cloud Security Certification (CSAP) with Kubernetes-based infrastructure as a service (IaaS).

Kakao Enterprise obtained IaaS security certification in June of last year and announced its full-fledged entry into the public business by launching ‘Kakao i Cloud’ for public institutions in July of the same year. The security certification passed this time was achieved through a follow-up review conducted once a year after initial acquisition.

Kakao Enterprise expanded the scope of certification by submitting Kakao i Cloud, which significantly improved automation capabilities by improving the existing infrastructure based on managed Kubernetes.

CSAP is a cloud security certification system provided by the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA). Obtaining CSAP means that it has the stability and reliability to provide cloud services and that the security level is high enough to be introduced to public institutions. .

Public institutions that have adopted the Kubernetes-based Kakao i Cloud can take advantage of the advantages provided by existing container-based services with Kubernetes technology along with stronger cloud security.

Lee Gyeong-jin, head of Kakao Enterprise’s Cloud Development Department, said, “Kakao Enterprise, as Korea’s leading IT platform, plans to conduct more active business in the public sector through Kakao i Cloud, which has been further strengthened in terms of security and availability.”
