Neowiz Co., Ltd. announced on the 13th that it signed a licensing agreement with Daewon Media Co., Ltd. for the intellectual property rights (IP) of the mobile game ‘Cats & Soup’.
Through this contract, both companies plan to use the Cat and Soup IP to develop various products such as living & kitchenware, figures, and fashion accessories.
Daewon Media will conduct business such as planning, manufacturing, and distribution of cat and soup-related products exclusively for three years. As we have already established a business base at home and abroad, including content business, distribution, and publishing, and have high competitiveness, we plan to introduce the Cat and Soup IP not only domestically but also to the global market, including China.
Cat and Soup is a healing mobile idle game developed by HiDeer, a subsidiary of Neowiz. It is loved in the global market, recognized for its popularity and game quality for its cute cartoon-style illustrations and easy controls. It currently has 23 million cumulative downloads.
Neowiz plans to actively diversify its IP business and further grow Cats and Soup into a global IP as there has been continued demand for commercialization from game users around the world.
A Neowiz official said, “As the art competitiveness of Cat and Soup has already been proven in the global market, we expect interest in products released using it to be very high.” He added, “While we are introducing goods and collaborative products with Daewon Media, “We will also contribute to increasing sales.”
