Korea Deep Learning, a company specializing in AI solutions, jointly participated in the ‘2022 Smart Service ICT Solution Development Project’ with food and lifestyle brand ‘Balance Lab’ and was finally selected.
The 2022 Smart Service ICT Solution Development Project is a project hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and carried out by the Small and Medium Business Technology Information Promotion Agency. The goal is to build a foundation for small and medium-sized business service innovation by developing solutions to improve productivity and add value in the service sector. Selected companies will be provided with up to 500 million won for two years for the development of new solutions and advancements in existing solutions.
The data analysis solution introduced by the two companies through a consortium is a customized health functional food analysis and recommendation service that provides results regarding purchase, dosage, and effects. It was built based on a database of more than 160,000 products collected at home and abroad.
This service provides health food analysis information as well as ingredient analysis, product combination, and recommendation functions from a group of verified pharmacists. It goes beyond the store product-based recommendations of the existing health food channel and provides health food combination recommendations through targeting by ingredient based on customer preference DB. value is placed on
In this project, Korea Deep Learning’s core technology ‘DEEP OCR’, which has the slogan ‘Smart OCR that thinks like a human’, was used. This technology is optimized for solution dissemination as it was created so that it can be easily used without AI-related knowledge.
Kim Ji-hyun, CEO of Korea Deep Learning, said, “‘DEEP OCR’ used in this project is an intelligent OCR technology that fluidly recognizes unstructured documents such as complex detailed page maps,” and added, “It is a new artificial intelligence that combines NLP (natural language processing) technology with existing AI OCR technology.” “It is an intelligent character recognition technology,” he explained.
He continued, “We plan to build a customer-centric algorithm that reflects the diversity of the market to help customers understand the service.”
Meanwhile, Korea Deep Learning was selected for the 2022 KB Unicorn Club, jointly run by the Gyeonggi Creative Economy Innovation Center and KB Kookmin Bank, through ‘DEEP OCR’ and is receiving support for a customized acceleration program. In addition, based on six deep learning and machine learning technology patents, its technology has been recognized by large corporations such as Woori Financial Group, and it is growing rapidly as it is evaluated as the top AI company with growth potential according to Nice D&B.
