Tunip, an AI startup focused on natural language processing, launched 11 API products, including ethicality determination and de-identification.
Tunip is an AI startup co-founded by members of the Kakao Brain natural language processing team. It is developing advanced AI technologies such as natural language processing and hyperscale AI in-house, and proved its technological prowess by attracting seed investment worth 3 billion won from Pearl Abyss Capital, DSC Investment, and Naver D2SF in November last year.
The service released by Tunip this time is a Korean and English API service based on a self-developed natural language processing (NLP) engine. Without any additional coding or background knowledge, when the user enters the desired word or sentence, AI automatically recognizes it and provides appropriate results.
Among the APIs released by Tunip, the one that attracts the most attention is the ‘Safety Check’ API. When a user enters text, Tunip’s deep learning model analyzes the context, automatically detects hate speech, and classifies it into 11 categories, including insults, profanity, violence/threats, and incitement of crime.
In addition, the severity of the hate speech is divided into three levels: caution, obvious, and serious, and the results of replacing it with purified expressions are also shown. It can be applied in a variety of ways to solve AI ethics and Internet hate issues, which have recently become increasingly serious.
Tunip’s ‘de-identification’ API is a useful product for protecting personal information and utilizing data. In accordance with the guidelines for de-identification of personal information announced by the government, 14 personal information items, including name, address, phone number, and resident registration number, are automatically identified from sentences entered by the user and de-identified through methods such as deletion, masking, and categorization. do. In a situation where My Data is used in various fields such as finance, medicine, and marketing, it is a product with high customer demand as it can realize both data utility and personal information protection.
Tunip also unveiled an API service that can be applied to various services such as ▲text analysis ▲image analysis ▲video analysis ▲dialect translation ▲child’s voice synthesis ▲emotion classification ▲political tendency prediction ▲N-line poem ▲word graph. The 11 APIs released this time can be used directly on the Tunip website.
Starting with the release of this API, Tunip plans to expand its B2B and B2B2C business in earnest. We are currently discussing cooperation with various companies, most of which are companies that are advancing AI-based businesses or wish to introduce natural language-based AI services.
Tunip CEO Park Gyu-byeong said, “Many companies are focusing on image recognition-based APIs, but we focused on the field of natural language processing and prepared a differentiated API product that did not exist before.” “With proven products, we will reflect the voices of our customers to enhance our services, while continuously introducing several valuable APIs.”
