Gaudio Lab won two CES 2023 Innovation Awards for ▲loudness management 1 (LM1) and ▲spatial audio technology (Gaudio Spatial Audio (GSA)).
Gaudio Lab is a company specializing in AI and metaverse audio and has 9 people with PhDs in sound engineering, one of the largest in the world. The self-developed technology was adopted by international standards such as CTA/ANSI, proving its global technological competitiveness, and attracted a cumulative investment of 16.9 billion won from Softbank Ventures, LB Investment, Samsung Venture Investment, and Naver D2SF.
Gaudio Lab’s volume equalization technology, which won the CES 2023 Innovation Award, automatically optimizes the uneven volume of each content to suit the user’s environment, providing a comfortable sound experience. It can solve the inconvenience and hearing loss problems caused by suddenly increasing or decreasing volume, and even eliminates potential problems such as damage to the original content or sound quality distortion by using metadata. It has already been commercialized through Naver Now, FLO, and Bugs, and has also been officially approved as a U.S. CTA/ANSI standard, proving the innovativeness of Korean technology.
Gaudio Lab’s other award-winning work is a spatial sound technology that gives a three-dimensional effect to sound so that users wearing earphones or headphones can enjoy content with a sense of reality. In particular, it can be mounted on wireless earphones (TWS, True Wireless Stereo), providing accurate and natural spatial sound in accordance with the user’s head movements. Providing high quality despite fast processing times is also a strength.
Oh Hyeon-oh, CEO of Gaudio Lab, said, “I am happy to have proven once again on the global stage that we are a company with the world’s best technology in the audio field. We are not satisfied with the status quo and will innovate further to provide more smooth and comfortable sound experiences that transcend reality.” “We will provide it to people.”
Meanwhile, Gaudio Lab plans to participate in CES 2023 to be held in Las Vegas, USA in January 2023 and open a booth in the integrated Korean pavilion in Eureka Park, allowing people to directly experience various technologies and products, including the innovation award winners.
