Kakao (Co-CEOs Yeo Min-soo and Jo Su-yong), in cooperation with the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (Director Jeong Eun-kyung), will start a same-day reservation service for COVID-19 remaining vaccines on KakaoTalk starting on the 27th.

Starting at 1 PM on the 27th, users can check real-time information on nearby consignment medical institutions with remaining vaccines in the ‘Remaining Vaccines’ tab of the KakaoTalk #tab and make reservations right away. Information on consignment medical institutions with remaining vaccines is linked to Kakao Map and exposed in map form. You can check the location, name, and remaining vaccine quantity of the institution at a glance, and you can also sort the list of institutions by remaining vaccine quantity or distance.

Those wishing to receive the remaining vaccine can select a consignment medical institution in the ‘Remaining Vaccine’ tab, click Make Reservation, and then consent to the collection of necessary information and undergo authentication. Those who have made a reservation can visit the entrusted medical institution by the time indicated after completing the reservation and receive the vaccination. In some cases, reservations are not possible, such as when the user is not eligible for the remaining vaccine or when the application for the remaining vaccine at the selected entrusted medical institution is closed.

Kakao also provides a KakaoTalk notification function so that users can directly select a consignment medical institution and then be notified immediately if there is any remaining vaccine at that institution. Up to five entrusted medical institutions can be selected.

Director Eun-kyung Jeong of the COVID-19 Vaccination Response Promotion Team emphasized, “If you get vaccinated, you can significantly reduce both the possibility of COVID-19 infection and the risk of death,” and added, “We expect that more people will be able to participate in vaccination through this system reform.” “I do it,” he said.

Kakao Co-CEO Yeo Min-soo said, “We will do our best to ensure that Kakao’s technology and platform contribute to minimizing the disposal of remaining COVID-19 vaccines and increasing the vaccination rate,” and added, “We will continue to spare no effort in matters directly related to the lives of the people.” He said.
