The Gyeonggi Creative Economy Innovation Center (hereinafter referred to as the ‘Gyeonggi Innovation Center’), the operating organization of the Pangyo Startup Zone, announced on the 1st that it successfully concluded the ‘3rd Startup 815’ held on June 30.
Startup 815 is an investment briefing session for each field of innovative technology held every month by the Gyeonggi Innovation Center in collaboration with the Gyeonggi Regional Small and Medium Venture Business Administration, Gachon University, and the University of Suwon. This event was held to discover excellent startups in the materials, parts, equipment/robots, machinery/smart factory/manufacturing fields and to provide a venue for practical investment linkage.
Participating companies include △’Dot Hill’ (a healthcare robot that moves the monitor to induce posture training) △’Reset Company’ (an intelligent unmanned cleaning robot to improve profits from solar power generation) △’JastechM’ (Automotive-ICT) Device and mobility big data-based platform service business) △’Fine One’ (core magnet components for 8.5 generation or higher OLED deposition equipment) △’GS E&S’ (CO² Free system design) △’Avalve’ (increasing smart farm profitability) ‘Tip Bum’ occurrence prediction artificial intelligence smart farm system) etc. participated and introduced their core technology and vision.
The reviewers included K-Lun Ventures, Alumni Partners, Timeworks Investment, K2 Investment, Ensle Partners, Credit Guarantee Fund, and IXV.
After each company’s presentation, feedback and networking were provided by investment experts, and ‘Reset Company’, which was selected as the most outstanding company of the day, was given the opportunity to have a one-on-one follow-up meeting with the desired investment company.
Since the first Startup 815 was held last April, it has been held three times so far, and a total of 22 startups held investment briefings for 28 investment companies. Even after the event ends, active follow-up meetings and investments between companies and investors continue.
Opus M, a participating company in the first round, received an investment of 500 million won from the Credit Guarantee Fund, which was a participating investment company, and A-Biotech, which participated in the second round, is currently discussing an investment of the same size with the participating investment company.
An official at the Gyeonggi Innovation Center said, “As a public accelerator and a leading startup hub in the region, the Gyeonggi Innovation Center will continue to do its best to establish a practical channel between startups and investment companies.”
Startup Zone Startup 815 is held on the last Thursday of every month. The 4th Startup 815 is currently recruiting participating companies in the content field (realistic (AR·VR)/games/distribution/content technology, etc.).
Meanwhile, the Startup Zone is Korea’s largest startup support cluster, established in 2017 by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups to intensively foster promising startups in new industries, and operated by the Startup Promotion Agency and the Gyeonggi Creative Economy Innovation Center.
