NHN Payco begins distributing ‘Payco payment terminal’ | Provided by NHN

NHN Payco (CEO Jeong Yeon-hoon) announced on the 21st that it will expand offline payment infrastructure by distributing its self-developed ‘PAYCO payment terminal’.

According to NHN Payco, the ‘Payco payment terminal (C2100)’ is an all-in-one terminal that integrates a signature pad and various payment readers. IC, magnetic, NFC, QR/barcode, and VISA contactless payments are all supported. Another feature is that it is equipped with a high-resolution LCD and IC card slot on the front and back, allowing two-way payments between store owners and customers.

It also includes functions optimized for ‘untact payment’. QR and barcode payments, whose demand has expanded due to COVID-19, are supported through the built-in camera without a separate reader, and Visa contactless payment, where payment is made by simply touching the terminal to the terminal without swiping or inserting the card, is also possible.

NHN Payco said, “The ‘Payco payment terminal’ can provide all payment methods with one terminal without taking up a lot of space, so it can be useful for small merchants with narrow stores,” adding, “For mid- to large-sized merchants, it complements the POS payment function. “It is also suitable to be used together as a terminal.”

The ‘Payco payment terminal’ was also selected as one of the supported terminals for the ‘Credit Card Small Merchant Support Project’ promoted by the Korean Council for Corporate Partnership. In this project, NHN Korea Cyber Payment, a subsidiary of NHN Payco, will participate as a new payment terminal operator and distribute ‘Payco payment terminals’ to small merchants.

NHN Payco said, “Payco, which has been expanding the versatility of offline payments through partnerships with large brands, has been able to expand its franchises by utilizing its self-developed payment terminals and VAN company sales networks.” “By introducing the ‘Payco payment terminal,’ we expect to improve the store payment environment and even generate additional sales through ‘Payco’ payments.”
