Naver announced on the 3rd that it will present a key research paper on its large-scale artificial intelligence (AI) ‘Hyperclova’ at ‘EMNLP 2021’, an international natural language processing (NLP) conference.
EMNLP, along with ACL, is considered an authoritative academic society in the field of natural language processing. It is scheduled to be held in the Dominican Republic from November 7th to 11th.
Naver’s Hyperclova paper was selected for presentation at the main conference. This study introduces Hyperclova, a large-scale Korean language model, and the data used for its learning, and verifies the performance of models of various sizes.
37 people from various teams, including Naver Clova and AI Lab researchers, as well as software platform engineers and search engineers, participated as authors.
In addition, Naver plans to present six papers containing the results of collaborative research with Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), Korea University, and Seoul National University at the academic conference.
Ha Jeong-woo, director of Naver AI Lab, said, “The publication of this paper is a meaningful achievement in that the global natural language processing academic community has recognized the value of Korean AI, rather than the existing English-centered language model.”
