On the 2nd, food ticket ledger operator Bendis (CEO Jo Jeong-ho) and the Pangyo Area Merchants Association announced that they have decided to cooperate in distributing mobile meal tickets to revitalize the Pangyo commercial district in Seongnam City.

Meal Ticket Ledger is a mobile meal ticket service used by 150,000 office workers from 1,000 companies in Korea. By using the meal voucher app, companies can provide meal points to their employees, or office workers can directly recharge points and pay at affiliated stores. Meal ticket register partner stores can secure the company’s regular meal budget through fixed sales, and naturally attract office workers. Currently, there are about 30,000 meal ticket register affiliated stores, mainly in the metropolitan area.

Bendis’ first plan is to distribute meal ticket registers to the Pangyo area commercial district in cooperation with the ‘Samhwan Hypex Merchants’ Association’ to revitalize the commercial district. Samhwan Hypex is a representative office tower complex in the Pangyo area.

Bendis is a company outside the Pangyo area that not only partners with stores that people visit, but also discovers stores that can operate the delivery service provided by the meal ticket manager, connects with companies located further away, and jointly develops menus for affiliated stores as meal kits. Supports transient transactions.

Jin-ho Yoo, Chairman of the Samhwan Hypex Merchants Association, who runs the Chinese restaurant ‘Soho Banjeom’ in Pangyo, said, “Among the mobile meal ticket companies we have experienced so far, Meal Ticket Master has the largest number of corporate customers and has demonstrated differentiated know-how and stability through many years of service operation. “Because of this, we expanded our cooperation to the merchant association level,” he said. “We hope that local commercial districts going through difficult times due to COVID-19 will be able to generate stable sales through the meal ticket register.”

There is another reason why affiliated stores prefer to do business with meal vouchers. The irregular settlement of meal expenses, which was prevalent in existing transaction practices with companies, will also be resolved. Through a contract with the food stamp manager, you can receive regular settlement every month, ensuring stable cash flow, which is important in running a store. In addition, since it provides an administrator page and an app for store owners, the hassles of traditional meal transactions such as paper meal tickets and ledger management are eliminated.

Bendis CEO Cho Jung-ho said, “Just as you can easily see phrases such as ‘We accept company meal coupons’ and ‘We do book transactions’ at restaurants in office commercial districts, corporate meal plans are considered a fixed source of revenue in commercial districts,” adding, “The ESG boom among companies as well.” “At the same time, attempts are being made to eliminate large-scale cafeterias and redirect welfare budgets to commercial districts near companies, so there will be more cases where meal ticket registers can contribute to revitalizing local commercial districts in the future.”
