SMT Co., Ltd. (CEO Lee Dong-wook), a solution startup specializing in energy smart metering, held the ‘2nd Korea Water Industry Innovation Startup Competition’ held by the Ministry of Environment and Korea Water Resources Corporation at El Tower in Seocho-gu, Seoul on November 18th to promote innovation start-ups in the domestic water industry. It was announced that he won the encouragement award in Daejeon.
SMT Co., Ltd. is currently a company located in the Pangyo Startup Zone, established by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and operated by the Startup Promotion Agency and the Gyeonggi Creative Economy Innovation Center. We provide products and services that predict demand through IoT/ICT-based measurement and analysis solutions for efficient energy management. The ‘2nd Korea Water Industry Innovation Startup Exhibition’ was prepared to find creative proposals and excellent technologies that can be commercialized, expand the base of the water industry, and utilize them as a driving force for innovative growth.
The Ministry of Environment held a contest for ideas and commercialization tasks in the water industry for about three months starting in June, and received a total of 125 items. The submitted tasks were subject to a national evaluation panel of 30 people, three stages of expert evaluation, and three weeks of business advancement. After going through the program, 18 final projects were selected as prize-winning projects.
SMT Co., Ltd. received an encouragement award after being selected among the final 18 tasks after fierce competition for its ‘Industrial multi-device and AI solution equipped with IoT functions for efficient management of thermal energy in hydrothermal power generation systems.’
As a result, from 2022, they will receive many benefits, including support for purchasing products within the Korea Water Resources Corporation, support for linking with the K-water accelerator program (Rainbow™), and support for shared growth programs.
Lee Dong-wook, CEO of SMT Co., Ltd., said, “We will do our best to distribute solutions that increase the heat production of hydrothermal power generation systems that will contribute to the carbon neutral era.” He added, “We are a team that is recognized for its capabilities in thermal energy measurement and analysis by industry and government-related organizations. “In addition to the successful commercialization of the item, we plan to focus on advancing solutions for the energy cloud in the future.”
