‘2021 Startup 815 Homecoming Festa’ in progress

Gyeonggi Creative Economy Innovation Center (Director Shin Hyun-sam, hereinafter referred to as ‘Gyeonggi Innovation Center’) announced on the 21st that it successfully concluded the ‘2021 Startup 815 Homecoming Festa (hereinafter referred to as ‘Homecoming Festa’) held at the Pangyo Startup Zone.

The Pangyo Startup Zone is Korea’s largest startup support space, established by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups to intensively nurture promising domestic startups and jointly operated by the Korea Startup Promotion Agency and the Gyeonggi Innovation Center.

This Homecoming Festa was held for three days starting on the 15th at the collaboration lounge on the 6th floor of the startup zone located in the corporate support hub of Pangyo 2nd Techno Valley. It was prepared as an opportunity for startup officials from various fields to participate, including the Gyeonggi Innovation Center, startup zone incubators, related organizations, VCs, angel investors, and senior entrepreneurs. As a festa for startups, △Investment IR (Public announcement of company BM for investors by session, investor feedback and networking connection) △Business meetup (Open innovation seminar, consultation in specialized fields (HR/labor, finance/certification, etc.)) △Networking ( Various programs such as Startup-VC·CVC, Startup Leap Package In-Depth Expert Networking) △Special Lectures/Seminar (New Normal Era – Three Things You Need to Change, etc.) attracted attention.

All programs were conducted offline only for those who had been vaccinated or had quarantine passes in accordance with the strengthened social distancing due to COVID-19, and were simultaneously broadcast to the Gyeonggi Innovation Center YouTube channel. A CEO of a startup who participated in the Homecoming Festa said, “While we were physically and psychologically disconnected last year due to COVID-19, it was an important opportunity to form relationships between companies for the last time this year.” Minshin Koo, head of the Startup Zone Team, said, “It was a good opportunity to share this year’s achievements and create new sales channels through in-depth networking between startups and experts.” He added, “It was a valuable time to support the leap forward of companies in the Startup Zone, and it was a valuable opportunity to support the start-up support ecosystem.” “We will do our best to revitalize it,” he said.
