It is receiving active administrative support from the Korea Fund, Credit Guarantee Fund, and Industrial Bank of Korea.
Tweeny Co., Ltd., an autonomous driving company that succeeded in securing an investment of 24 billion won, was selected as a preliminary unicorn in the ‘K-Unicorn Project’ hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups in 2021. Preliminary unicorns are companies with a corporate value of more than 100 billion won but less than 1 trillion won, among companies that can grow to more than 1 trillion won in corporate value.
Director Son Woong-hee of the Korea Robot Industry Promotion Agency said, “We congratulate the business agreement ceremony between the two companies that met through the promising idea technology support project, and we will actively provide support at the Agency level to create practical examples of collaboration.”
Park Jin-seok, CEO of City Sharing Platform, said, “In April 2021, we were selected for the promising idea technology support project of the Korea Robot Industry Promotion Agency, and while looking for a company specializing in self-driving robots, we found a company hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea Robot Industry Promotion Agency and organized by the Bucheon Industry Promotion Agency. “We attended the ‘2021 Promising Idea Technology Support Project Open Innovation Day’ as a beneficiary company and met with CEO Cheon Hong-seok and agreed to combine the strengths of both companies to create the world’s first door-to-door unmanned sales robot.”
Tweeny CEO Cheon Hong-seok said, “If we combine the autonomous driving technology that Tweeny is best at with the artificial intelligence unmanned vending machine of the city sharing platform, we will be able to create a prototype in January 2022 and conduct pilot projects at innovation centers, amusement parks, and airports across the country.” reported.
