Fine Food Lab introduced ‘Purot Hemp Milk’ by focusing on hemp seed, a superfood that is the most eco-friendly, sustainable, and rich in nutrients among the raw materials that can make plant-based alternative milk. The product achieved 2022% of target sales within a month of launch in December 12, is being sold in 3,000 distribution channels within 6 months, and won the 30 Seoul Award.
The product name is derived from the English word ‘pure’, which means pure, and the Korean word ‘orot’, which means pure, and symbolizes the ambition to include only the natural taste and nutrition of healthy ingredients in the product. CEO Kim Soo-jeong, a former chef who developed Purot Hemp Milk, said, “In order to replace milk, which has been considered irreplaceable, we had to find excellent raw materials more than anything else. “That was hemp seed,” he explained.
Hemp seeds are known to contain not only protein and dietary fiber, but also omega 3, 6, 9 and CBD. Fine Food Lab said that it is richer in nutrients than milk, has low calories, fat content, and cholesterol, and contains no lactose, making it suitable for patients with lactose intolerance who cannot digest milk.
CEO Kim Soo-jeong said, “It is as important to avoid adding unnecessary additives as it is to take care of nutrients. “Purot Hemp Milk contains no colorants, preservatives, emulsifiers, or even sugar,” he said. “These days, plant-based alternative milk is emerging as a trend, and hemp milk made from organic hemp seeds is attracting attention in the U.S. and European markets.”
Future plans were also announced. CEO Kim said, “Our goal is to create products that can help anyone, regardless of gender or age, maintain their health easily and conveniently with ‘food that can be healthy even if it is delicious, and delicious even if it is healthy.’” He added, “We plan to expand into the global care food and silver food markets.” “We are preparing,” he said.
