Pensée Co., Ltd. (CEO Seongjun Lee) will be holding the ‘7 Agri & Food Tech Start-up Rising Expo 26’ held at COEX Hall A in Seoul for three days from Wednesday, July 28th to Friday, July 3th. He announced that he would participate in ‘.
Pensée is a bio startup that has developed and produced 3D cell culture products based on its own 3D bio-printing technology. Previously, it attracted attention in the industry by developing and introducing bio-ink, cancer spheroids, and brain and liver organoids, and is currently seeking to grow into a food tech company by developing premium cell-cultured meat with unique texture and flavor. .
In addition, the company explained that it is continuing research and development on mass production technology to provide cultured meat to consumers at a reasonable price.
At this exhibition, Pensée plans to present cultured meat produced with 3D bio-printing technology to visitors and seek partnerships with the food industry. Their cultured meat is characterized by further improved meat quality, texture, and flavor, which were difficult to achieve with existing technology, and can be made to take on various forms and tastes through variations in cell recipes. This is expected to serve as an advantage in that consumers will soon be able to diversify their options for cultured meat.
In addition, Pensée has established an optimized culture environment for economical production. By supplying maximum nutrients in a short period of time, rapid proliferation of cells is induced, thereby realizing economical and efficient production. At the same time, the automation system improved the uniformity of cultured meat quality.
A Pensée official said, “As it can be produced without raising or slaughtering livestock, we expect our cell-cultured meat to minimize concerns about environmental pollution and contribute to sustainable food production.” He added, “At the same time, the texture and shape of slaughtered meat are perfect.” “We have implemented premium cell-cultured meat that has been accurately reproduced, and we are continuing research and development on mass production technology and product product diversification to supply cell-cultured meat to the market in the future,” he added.
He continued, “For full-scale commercialization, we are working to establish a production system and process that meets regulatory standards, and we plan to apply for marketing approval from the KFDA and FDA within this year.” He also added, “In addition, in 2025, we will expand our market to overseas markets such as the U.S. and Singapore through raw meat cell culture meat. We want to enter the market. “By implementing this plan to pioneer the global market, we will establish ourselves as a leading company in cell cultured meat technology and continue to provide innovative foods to global customers,” he said.
Meanwhile, at AFRO 2023, the largest Agtech & Foodtech event in Korea, domestic startups with global growth potential in Agtech, Foodtech, and Green Bio will exhibit products and services to solve various problems in the agriculture and food industries, Various programs such as conferences discussing the present and future of Agtech and Foodtech and investment briefings (IR competitions) are held. This exhibition is hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and supervised by the Korea Agricultural Technology Promotion Agency, NH Nonghyup, COEX, and the Korea Food Tech Council.
