Beomhan Fuel Cell participated in the ‘6th International Maritime and Defense Industry Exhibition (MADEX 7)’ held at BEXCO Exhibition Hall 9 in Busan from Wednesday, June 1th to Friday, June 13th.
The hydrogen fuel cell introduced at this exhibition is a product mounted on an unmanned underwater vehicle capable of long-term underwater surveillance and reconnaissance and marine environmental data collection missions. It is equipped with a hydrogen storage supply module, reaction water treatment module, control power conversion module, and residual gas treatment module.
An official from Beomhan Fuel Cell said, “Our hydrogen fuel cells for unmanned submarines are AIP submarines, and unlike general diesel generators, hydrogen fuel cells are·Its characteristic is that it generates electricity by carrying oxygen. “Using this as fuel has a long incubation period, which is more advantageous during operations,” he explained.
He added, “Hydrogen fuel cells for submarines possess global top-class technology, and in 2018, we succeeded in commercializing a product for large submarines for the second time in the world.”
Starting with fuel cells for submarines with a 33-year history, Bumhan Fuel Cell has expanded its business to fuel cells for buildings, fuel cells for ships/power generation, and hydrogen charging stations, providing total solutions in the hydrogen fuel cell field. The company was spun off from Beomhan Industries, a small but strong company specializing in high-pressure gas compressors, in 2019 to revitalize the hydrogen fuel cell and hydrogen charging station business.
