Jirisan Clear Water Chunhyanggol (CEO So Seong-jin) participated in the ‘5 Seoul International Food Industry Exhibition (SEOUL FOOD 30)’ held at KINTEX in Goyang for 6 days from Tuesday, May 2 to Friday, June 4.
Jirisan Clear Water Chunhyanggol is a farming cooperative corporation located in Jucheon-myeon, Namwon-si, Jeollabuk-do, and is a company that manufactures and produces ‘well-being jelly’ based on a recipe passed down through three generations. At Seoul Food 3, a booth was set up in the retro concept Jeonbuk Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and it is a company that supports the traditional food marketing revitalization project conducted by Jeollabuk-do (Governor Kim Kwan-young) and Jeonbuk Bio Convergence Industry Promotion Agency (Director Lee Eun-mi).
At this exhibition, Jirisan Clear Water Chunhyanggol presented a variety of processed foods, including its acorn jelly. When introducing their representative product, ‘Domestic Chamdotorimuk’, what they highlighted as its advantage was that it adhered to traditional manufacturing methods. It is made by grinding acorns to make sediment and then heating it, resulting in a unique yet excellent texture and light taste.
Regarding this, So Seong-jin, CEO of Jirisan Malgeunmul Chunhyanggol, said, “As someone who grew up feeling the taste of acorn jelly that my grandmother used to make since I was a child, I was confident that if that taste were realized as a product, it would be a jelly that everyone would be satisfied with.” He added, “It is different from other commercialized jelly. “These products may be cheaper because they are mass-produced using a more simplified process, but we think it is very meaningful to protect and continue our unique value,” he added.
Based on this differentiated jelly, Jirisan Clear Water Chunhyanggol pursues diversification and expands its product line, commercializing and releasing things such as radish greens, acorn bulgogi-flavored japchae, and colored jelly into the market. Furthermore, it is known that export results are accumulating with positive responses from the US and Australia.
CEO So said, “Vegan food and K-food are emerging as major categories in the global food market. “We are planning to expand our overseas sales channels by focusing on the fact that acorn jelly is the best and most representative vegan food among Korea’s many traditional foods,” he said. “To this end, we have obtained vegan certification and FSSC 22000 certification for our products, and are targeting the Indian market first.” “We want to start a strategy,” he said, expressing his ambition.
