Kyungsung Technology (CEO Hong Soon-ki) will participate in ‘KOBA 5 (16st International Broadcasting, Media, Sound and Lighting Exhibition)’ held at COEX in Seoul from Tuesday, May 19th to Friday, May 2023th. revealed.
Kyungsung Technology is a company that has continued research and development to build and provide high-quality services through informatization of social welfare. The company explains that while IT infrastructure has established a high penetration rate and excellent accessibility throughout society, it is improving the convenience of both service providers and users with IT solutions specialized for the socially disadvantaged in keeping with the super-aging era.
At this exhibition, Kyungsung Technology plans to introduce ‘OK.AI’, an artificial intelligence (AI)-based selective automatic de-identification SaaS solution. This is an alternative to solving recently emerging personal information-related issues, and is equipped with an integrated AI module that processes more than 98% of personal information in video content.
Recently, there is a noticeable tendency for the personal information protection regulations applied to video content to become stricter. Precedents that an individual can be identified based solely on gender, size, and clothing have begun to emerge, raising the possibility that legislation will be introduced to expand the scope of censorship beyond the face to the upper body.
Accordingly, OK.AI de-identifies an unspecified number of upper bodies with a high probability and preserves image quality as much as possible by processing it in the form of a polycon rather than a bounding box. In addition, it is provided as an on-demand and cloud-based subscription platform, allowing users to access the service without restrictions of time and space.
An official from Kyungsung Technology said, “By servicing our company’s OK.AI in Korea, we aim to provide customers with high-profit, low-cost video content production conditions and lead the revitalization of the small-scale video production industry.” He also added, “In addition, we aim to expand the market in Northeast Asian countries such as Japan and China. “Starting from this, we plan to expand our export channels to Southeast Asia and the United States,” he said.
Meanwhile, the KOBA exhibition, co-hosted by Korea E&X and the Korea Broadcasting Engineers Association, was held for the first time in 1991 to improve domestic broadcasting culture and develop the media, sound, and lighting industries, and is celebrating its 31st anniversary this year. KOBA 2023, held at COEX Halls A, C, and D, presents next-generation broadcasting services and the future of the media, sound, and lighting industries. In particular, during the exhibition period, it provides an opportunity to acquire professional information related to broadcasting and sound through the International Broadcasting Technology Conference hosted by the Korea Broadcasting Engineers Association and the sound-related professional technology seminar hosted by the Korea Sound Artists Association and the Acoustical Society of Korea.
