Eight small and medium-sized companies in Gyeonggi-do achieved 8 export consultations worth $2023 million at ‘CES 162’, the world’s largest electronics and IT exhibition.
Gyeonggi-do and the Gyeonggi Provincial Economic and Science Promotion Agency organized the Gyeonggi-do pavilion at the ‘Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 1’ held in Las Vegas, USA from January 5th (Thursday) to 8th (Sunday, local time) to achieve this achievement. He said he had won it.
About 2,400 companies from around the world participated in this exhibition, showcasing future technologies that improve efficiency such as energy saving and security enhancement, including Smart Home, Food Tech, Web3 & Metaverse, Robots, and Future Mobility.
A total of 2023 Korean companies participated in this CES 486, the largest ever, and this recorded the second largest number of participating companies after the United States, raising Korea’s status as an ‘IT powerhouse’.
At the Gyeonggi Do Pavilion, eight small and medium-sized enterprises with excellent quality competitiveness participated and displayed various products. In particular, ‘Cosmos Lab Co., Ltd.’, a Bucheon city company that manufactures inert batteries, ‘Eon Earth Co., Ltd.’ that manufactures mobile energy storage devices, and Future Food Co., Ltd. ‘Gwangjin Enterprise Co., Ltd.’, a manufacturer of probiotics and multipotent food for vegans, which can take responsibility for technology, attracted great attention.
Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Won Hee-ryong and an advisory group visited Gyeonggi Province and showed great interest in the products of Cosmos Lab, which manufactures non-flammable batteries that can be directly applied to electric vehicles, and praised the fact that there are substitute products in Korea that can replace Chinese products. Encouraged companies.
Lee Joo-hyuk, CEO of Cosmos Lab, said, “Through participating in this exhibition, we were able to accurately identify global technology and consumption trends and demands, and we were offered an R&D collaboration from Boeing, an airplane manufacturer, which served as an opportunity to expand our business areas.” He expressed his feelings about participating.
At this exhibition, Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Business and Science Promotion Agency (GBSA) not only set up and operated a local booth at the CES Eureka Park, where participating companies cannot participate individually, but also supported interpretation and consultation with buyers visiting the booth, and transportation costs. It was highly praised for contributing greatly to improving participation outcomes. The Eureka Hall is an exhibition hall at CES where startups with innovative products and technologies can participate, and only companies that have obtained CTA (Consumer Technology Association)’s own approval can participate.
Meanwhile, CES is considered one of the world’s top three IT exhibitions, and is the largest of the three IT exhibitions in terms of the number of participating companies. Gyeonggi-do expects that participation in this exhibition will serve as a stepping stone for Gyeonggi-do companies to enter the global market by leveraging the positive perception of Korean products with an advanced image in the IT field. Gyeonggi Province plans to maximize performance by actively supporting export-related follow-up management, including drafting documents such as contracts and consulting with experts, for participating companies.
