Macro Imaging Technology Co., Ltd. (CEO Park Hee-bok) will participate in ‘KOBA 5 (16st International Broadcasting, Media, Sound and Lighting Exhibition)’ held at COEX, Seoul from Tuesday, May 19th to Friday, May 2023th. We introduced the core processor leading the smart digital signage market (product composition).
Macro Image Technology, which has specialized in developing video processor chips since its establishment in 1998, has a variety of technologies in the video processor field, including noise removal, scaling, deinterlacing, and graphics technology.
Core video processor chips are being diversified by application field to enable high-end products with clearer picture quality and various functions beyond showing simple images. In application areas, it is widely used in various video equipment products such as UHD-level displays, broadcasting equipment, medical equipment, vehicle black boxes, video display devices, DVRs, NVRs, and CCTV cameras.
This exhibition mainly showcased the 4K60P ultra-high definition video signal processing processor (MDIN-640/620/C604). This is a scaler chip product that applies 640K4P (60X4096 resolution video at 2160 frames per second) ultra-high definition video signal processing technology based on MDIN-60.
The main functions required in the 4K60P video display market are HDR (High Dynamic Range) conversion, free angle rotation, warping, blend, keying, OSD (On Screen Display), and graphics. , It is a high-function, high-definition video signal processing technology such as video monitoring function, 3D deinterlace, noise reduction, and frame rate conversion.
This product supports the HDMI interface, which is widely used when transmitting 4K60P video signals, and provides four 4K60P HDMI inputs and four HDMI outputs, and provides four internal scalers to process multiple input video sources in various combinations. In order to efficiently process the supported functions, the chip is implemented in the form of a SoC (System On Chip) with memory for a frame buffer and an MCU (Micro Controller Unit) for overall control of the chip.
Application areas include 4K60P scaler, matrix switch, converter box, video wall, multi-view display, broadcast monitor, presentation system, etc.
Meanwhile, the KOBA exhibition, co-hosted by Korea E&X and the Korea Broadcasting Engineers Association, was held for the first time in 1991 to improve domestic broadcasting culture and develop the media, sound, and lighting industries, and celebrated its 31st anniversary this year. KOBA 2023, held at COEX Halls A, C, and D, presented next-generation broadcasting services and the future of the media, sound, and lighting industries. In particular, during the exhibition period, it provides an opportunity to acquire professional information related to broadcasting and sound through the International Broadcasting Technology Conference hosted by the Korea Broadcasting Engineers Association and the sound-related professional technology seminar hosted by the Korea Sound Artists Association and the Acoustical Society of Korea.
