‘2023 ICPI Week (International Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Week)’, which covers the entire supply chain from pharmaceutical and cosmetic development to manufacturing and distribution, was held on April 4th, hosted by a contest exhibition and organized by KY Expo. Through the so-called bio revolution, related industries are expanding beyond the traditional pharmaceutical industry into various fields such as agriculture and consumer goods, and it is expected that after 2030, economic value of $ 2 trillion to $ 4 trillion will be created annually. Accordingly, domestic policy organizations have also started to respond at the pan-governmental level. In this gradually expanding field, we were able to meet promising companies seeking and creating new growth engines through their respective manufacturing and development technologies.
Vioxx takes the lead in localizing pharmaceutical and bio process equipment and consumables… “A reasonable and fast alternative to the domestic pharmaceutical industry!”
Established in 2016, Vioxx is a company that has supplied process consumables and equipment to domestic and overseas pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical markets. Based on its own development capabilities, it has developed detergents used in the bio-pharmaceutical cleaning process for the first time in Korea, and is known to have GMP-grade production facilities and analysis equipment to implement strict quality control. Furthermore, Vioxx has recently expanded its business area to the field of insulation materials that realize epoch-making energy savings, manufacturing and supplying customized insulation materials with the shape or model desired by customers.
In this exhibition, Vioxx also introduced various products developed and released under its business area. Their CIP (Clean in Place) process detergent named ‘BiCLEAN’ series is currently composed of two types, ▲BiCLEAN-B1.0 and ▲BiCLEAN-A1.0.
‘BiCLEAN-B1.0’, a highly concentrated alkaline detergent based on potassium hydroxide, shows excellent performance in removing oil and does not generate many bubbles. Based on this, it was introduced as a product with excellent cleaning efficiency as it can be removed from the product surface with less water and time after cleaning.
‘BiCLEAN-A1.0’ is an acidic cleaner made with phosphoric acid as its main component, and boasts excellent rinsing properties like BiCLEAN-B1.0. At the same time, it is considered a suitable product for the CIP process as well as the COP (Clean out of Place) process, and shows excellent effects in the removal of inorganic contaminants and rouge and passivation.
The insulation material of Vioxx, which was also introduced, is an equipment based on the ‘Basotect’ material of ‘BASF’ in Germany. Basotect, developed from melamine resin as a raw material, is a foam with a soft and porous structure, and is attracting attention as an excellent insulation and sound absorption material in various industrial and commercial fields. It is safe from safety accidents such as fire with flame retardancy, self-extinguishing, and heat resistance, and contributes to improving energy efficiency in the process with physical properties that are uniformly maintained even in a wide range of temperatures.
An official from Vioxx said, “Even though Korea has many companies with excellent capabilities in the bio and pharmaceutical fields, consumables and equipment used in these processes have shown a high dependence on foreign products.” “We are trying to solve these problems. Novacen introduces ‘combi detector’ that provides precise measurement and detection functions at the same time… “Precise quantitative preservation and foreign matter detection possible!”
Since its establishment in 2004, Novacen has developed its capabilities and scale based on various sensor products. Since then, it has expanded its business to sensor-based facilities and equipment and succeeded in developing a high-frequency digital metal detector in 2009.
Since then, Novacen has developed its own program for managing metal detectors and applied for a patent. In 2012, Novacen expanded its product line to equipment that can be used in medicine, cosmetics, and food manufacturing and packaging processes, such as self-developed checkweighers. As a result of these efforts, in 2013, the establishment of a company-affiliated research center was recognized, gaining momentum in the development of self-development capabilities and achieving successive achievements such as acquiring a number of patents.
At this exhibition, Novacen drew attention from the site with its ‘Combi Detector’ as its representative product. This is a concept that integrates a metal detector and a checkweigher into one equipment, and has the advantage of being superior in terms of space efficiency to having two separate equipment in a factory.
In addition, a 15.6-inch LCD touch screen is applied for easy operation, and the network function supports manager’s remote monitoring, data management, and simple abnormality check and maintenance.
In the metal detection process, it boasts exceptionally high precision, such as detecting minute metal particles between 1.0mm and 1.5mm. . As a result, it is possible to effectively block consumer complaints and producer losses due to foreign substances or quantitative errors that may occur during the manufacturing process, officials explained.

GME Bio draws attention with picometer-level hydrogen peroxide vapor (VHP)-based aseptic management solution… “Technology that realizes groundbreaking sterilization will be further developed!”
GME Bio is the first domestic company that has developed and manufactured sterilization equipment using hydrogen peroxide vapor (VHP) for the first time in Korea. As such, the company explains that it has specialized capabilities in aseptic management and infection prevention solutions, and provides excellent services by having GMP facilities as well as practitioners in various fields.
At this exhibition, GME Bio introduced its various aseptic management solutions and introduced the ‘PROTOSS’ series, a PVHP (Pico-sized Vaporized Hydrogen Peroxide Generator) product family.
‘PROTOSS-M’, one of the Protoss series products, is a PVHP that vaporizes and disperses 5 liters of high-capacity hydrogen peroxide at a level close to the pico unit. Compared to mist-type sterilizers, it has better vaporization performance than other equipment, and its vapor particle size is only one millionth, and it is possible to inject 1 to 3 g of hydrogen peroxide per minute. This realizes sophisticated yet rapid sterilization treatment. It is a performance that meets the standards of GMP facilities.
In addition, all processes during sterilization are automatically recorded for each phase, and all digitized data can be converted into PDF files and saved to a USB device.
‘PROTOSS-E’, which was introduced together, has a compact size and design with a weight of 8.5kg and a volume of 260㎣, and its portability is a feature and advantage. It vaporizes and sprays 500 ml of hydrogen peroxide into picometer-level particles, and it is also equipped with an LED indicator to intuitively know the operating status of the equipment and a touch screen to improve the convenience of operation.
