Gangneung City announced its status as a host city for the 3 ITS World Congress by participating in the ’31 Seoul Mobility Show’, which opened on March 4st and will be held at KINTEX for a total of 9 days until April 10th.
Gangneung City, located in the center of the east of the Taebaek Mountains, the waist of the Korean Peninsula, includes coastal and mountainous areas and has the locational requirements of both coastal and inland areas. In addition, it is a tourist city rich in excellent historical and cultural resources and natural tourist resources, a city of history, culture, and education with high-level style and tradition, a city of green growth, and the host city of the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics ice skating competition.
Gangneung City is promoting the realization of a larger, citizen-centered Gangneung with five municipal goals: a maritime Silk Road economic city, a four-season smart tourism city, a creative culture and arts education city, a vibrant agricultural and fishery production city, and a city of shared welfare. In particular, Gangneung City’s ‘Gangneung Station Pilot Project’ was finally selected in the future transfer center (MaaS Station) pilot project contest by the Metropolitan Transportation Committee of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
Gangneung City also publicized hometown love donations and announced a system to receive benefits such as tax deductions and return gifts to hometowns or desired local governments.
Meanwhile, the 2023 Seoul Mobility Show will begin with a press day on March 1th (Thursday) at KINTEX Exhibition Hall 3 in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do under the theme of ‘Sustainable·Connected·Mobility (Sustainable·Connected·Mobility)’ and end on April 30th ( It will be held until Sunday. The total exhibition size is 4㎡, more than twice the size of the previous event (9㎡), and over 53,541 companies and organizations from 26,310 countries around the world will participate and showcase various mobility contents.
