[Las Vegas (USA) = AVING News] Human Performance Lab Co., Ltd. (CEO Taeyong Lee) will run a total of 2023 days from January 1 (Thursday) to January 5 (Sunday, local time), 8. Participated in the Eureka Park K-STARTUP Integrated Pavilion, the startup zone of ‘CES 4’ held in Las Vegas, USA.

Human Performance Lab is a company created at Ewha Womans University’s Biomechanics Lab, led by CEO Taeyong Lee, a biomechanics expert. Under the vision of ‘Anytime, anywhere, anyone can be comfortable every day’, we research and develop non-face-to-face customized insoles based on computing simulation technology using computer vision technology and numerical analysis. Through this, we are solving the difficulty of people with foot and lower extremity pain having to visit hospitals or stores.

It was selected for the preliminary startup package conducted by Korea’s Startup Promotion Agency and developed the MVP version of ‘FitSole’, an insole customization application. In the final inspection, it was selected as the best company and received the honor of award.

Human Performance Lab’s ‘FitSole’, based on 3D conversion algorithm and computer simulation, is a non-face-to-face customized insole manufacturing system. The company explains that its core features are ‘perfectly customized insole’ and ‘non-face-to-face foot measurement’. Fitsol produces customized insoles using only foot surface images (about 10 seconds) through a smartphone app. Additionally, FEM (Finite Element Method) walking simulation is used to select the optimal shape and material. Accordingly, Human Performance Lab cited its strengths as being able to shorten foot measurement time by more than 70% through Fitsol, and providing customized insoles to customers at a reasonable price by reducing labor costs.

An official from Human Performance Lab said, “The ‘insole’ is the part of the shoe that is in direct contact with the plantar surface (sole of the foot). It plays a cushioning and shock-absorbing role and has a significant impact on the wearer’s gait and shoe fit. It affects “General insoles that do not take into account the individual’s physical characteristics can lead to incorrect walking, and there is a risk of causing not only foot diseases such as plantar fasciitis and hallux valgus, but also various chronic diseases such as disc and spinal diseases,” he explained.

In addition, “Customized insoles tailored to the shape of the soles of each person’s feet are effective in correcting gait and relieving pain in the feet and lower extremities, so they are most effective in people who suffer from lower extremity diseases and constantly feel pain,” he said. “Customized insoles are gradually becoming more popular. , production is difficult and takes a lot of time, so the price is set high. Our CEO Taeyong Lee, who captured this, said, “We developed ‘Fitsol,’ an app that allows you to order customized insoles through your smartphone and have them manufactured and delivered to your doorstep.”

The background to participating in the exhibition was also shared. An official said, “I would like to directly participate in CES 2023 and understand the current status of the healthcare market, which is currently attracting attention. In addition, we aim to establish a global partnership with Philips, and would like to hold technology-related meetings with ‘Orthosensor’, a company with technology that can periodically check and diagnose patients with foot and leg diseases, which is our target group.” said.

He continued, “We plan to develop slippers that reflect the curvature of the foot in the future. In addition, we plan to further challenge the sports market such as golf shoes and tennis shoes by utilizing the data and technology we have accumulated.”

Meanwhile, ‘CES’, the world’s largest IT exhibition, is an exhibition where you can understand the trends of the global home appliance industry at a glance. Hosted by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), it is held every January in Las Vegas, USA. AVING News, which has covered CES for 1 consecutive years, has reported CES news around the world every year since 17, and has been selected as the ‘BEST OF CES’, which selects the best innovative products and technologies, and the ‘BEST OF’, which selects domestic innovative companies. ‘MADE IN KOREA’ was held. In addition, CES on-site issues were vividly conveyed through ‘AVING LIVE’.

The K-STARTUP Integrated Pavilion is jointly participated by the Korea Start-up Agency, Seoul Business Agency, and Seoul Digital Foundation, and 51 domestic innovative companies participated to enter the U.S. market and discover global partners. In addition, CES 2023 college student supporters selected from each university (Kyunghee University, Kookmin University, Sogang University, and Chung-Ang University) were matched considering majors and industrial fields of participating companies.
