Onoma AI (CEO Song Min) plans to introduce ‘TooToon’, a generative artificial intelligence (AI)-based webtoon production assistance service, at ‘CES 2024’, the world’s largest IT and home appliance exhibition held in Las Vegas, USA in January.

Onoma AI is a startup established in February 2022 and has been developing a multimodal solution that provides results such as images and text through generative AI. Through this, we aim to develop sustainable content, and are currently preparing to officially launch a service that applies generative AI to webtoon production.

In this exhibition, Onoma AI presents ‘TooToon’, which is currently about to be released. This is a generative AI tool and service that assists webtoon artists in their creation and drawing process, and is largely characterized by providing functions and platform services such as synopsis creation, storyboard creation, and marketplace.

TwoToon, which was honored with the CES 2024 Innovation Award, provides a complete synopsis based on simple ideas and keywords presented by users, and also includes a function to draw line drawings of various compositions based on text. . In this way, users can select general stories and line drawings that can be used as samples and references, enhance them with their own individuality, and accelerate the completion of the results.

In particular, the reason that the generated images are provided in line drawing format is because, unlike the existing market that provides finished colored photos, Tootoon’s direction is focused on the role of a basic outline that allows the artist to modify the cut fluidly. The synopsis function and storyboard creation function help users materialize their ideas quickly and in a variety of ways.

When users upload several character images they have created to the TwoToon service, TwoToon automatically learns the character model and provides it to the author as a completed character model. Users can not only use it for their work, but also generate additional profits by registering and selling it on the marketplace provided by Tootoon.

An official from Onoma AI said, “TooToon is a competent assistant and agency for webtoon writers, and will provide a new market where writers can protect their copyrights and generate profits through generative AI.” He added, “To complete this service, To this end, we have explored and concluded partnerships with existing webtoon production companies and actively reflected the diverse opinions and voices that arise in the actual workplace. “As a result, a high-quality service was built that simultaneously maximizes technological promise and the potential of the webtoon market.”

He continued, “With the image creation technology and know-how we have accumulated over the years, we can provide solutions that dramatically improve the speed of the idea-building process and initial work, and we have the flexibility to reflect the opinions of artists in our services.” “We hope that localized artificial intelligence services will dramatically reduce production costs, demonstrate outstanding effectiveness in demonstrating creativity, and secure local studios in the U.S. as customers,” he said, explaining the reason for participating in this exhibition.

Meanwhile, ‘CES’, the world’s largest IT exhibition hosted by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), is an exhibition that provides insight into the trends of the global home appliance industry at a glance and is held every January in Las Vegas, USA. AVING News, which has covered CES for 18 consecutive years, has reported CES news around the world every year since 2006, and has been selected through ‘BEST OF CES’ and ‘BEST OF MADE IN KOREA’, which select the best innovative products, companies and technologies. has been in progress. In addition, CES on-site issues are vividly conveyed through ‘AVING LIVE’.

The CES 2024 Seoul Unified Hall will be operated at the largest scale in terms of exhibition area, number of participating companies, and number of participating supporters since Seoul City’s first participation in CES in 2020. The Seoul Integration Center, in which 13 organizations collaborate and participate, is an important step in Seoul’s efforts to make Seoul a mecca for startups, and 17 of the companies participating in the Seoul Integration Center proved this by receiving innovation awards. The participating institutions in the Seoul Unification Center are ▲SBA ▲Seoul Bio Hub ▲Campus Town ▲AI Yangjae Hub ▲Gwanak-gu ▲Yonsei University ▲Korea University ▲Chung-Ang University ▲Sogang University ▲Kookmin University ▲Hanyang University ▲Konkuk University ▲Kyunghee University. Not only the Seoul Metropolitan Government, institutions, and companies, but also supporters through industry-academia cooperation are matched 1:1 with companies, and 85 supporters, the largest number, will participate.
