Neowiz announced on the 17th that it had joined the game-focused blockchain project ‘OASYS’.
Oasis is a project that promotes coexistence by overcoming the technical limitations of each blockchain ecosystem, and is comprised of 21 global game companies along with leading Japanese game companies such as ‘Bandai Namco’, ‘Sega’, ‘Double Jump Tokyo’, and ‘Crypto Games’. We are participating and building partnerships. Domestic game companies including Netmarble, Com2uS, and Wemade are participating.
Oasis focuses on providing an environment optimized for the development and operation of blockchain-based games. It is an eco-friendly blockchain based on proof-of-stake (PoS) and its strengths include fast speed, high scalability, and free network fees.
The Oasis blockchain is composed of a data availability layer (layer 1) and a content layer (layer 2), boasting high scalability, and in the Oasis ecosystem, operators are designed to develop game businesses in their own layer 2. Through this, the plan is to develop Oasis into a blockchain that optimizes the user experience (UX) of gamers, the main users.
As Neowiz participates as an initial validator, it is expected to share with Oasis its overall experience related to the development, service, and operation of blockchain games and metaverse.
Bae Tae-geun, co-CEO of Neowiz, said, “We will cooperate with global game companies to develop and grow the blockchain ecosystem specialized for games,” and “Based on the experience accumulated through various activities, we will also introduce Neowiz’s differentiated blockchain services.” He said.
Daiki Moriyama, director of Oasis, said, “Neowiz, a leading Korean game company, does not stop at its role as an initial verifier, but rather creates a ‘multiverse’ where multiple ‘metaverses’ exist simultaneously, each pursuing unique values and the growth of the Oasis ecosystem. “We are looking forward to participating as a collaborator who will make an important contribution to the initiative.”
Meanwhile, Neowiz is providing global services for two games using blockchain technology, ‘Crypto Golf Impact’ and ‘Brave Nine’, through ‘Neopin’, a blockchain open platform based on Klaytn mainnet.
