Kakao supports the Republic of Korea on Liberation Day and supports descendants of independence fighters. Kakao’s social contribution platform ‘Kakao Together Value’ announced that it is conducting the ‘815 Korea Support Campaign’ to celebrate Liberation Day on August 15th. The first action mission proposed by Everybody’s Action is the ‘815 Run Certification’ with singer Sean, which certifies the record of participation in running at the desired time and place during the month of August. Participants can upload a running proof shot, including a practice run for the goal number of kilometers ▲3.1km ▲4.5km ▲8.15km challenge, a run on Liberation Day, etc., and can participate every day until the 31st.
The second action mission is the ‘Online and Offline Taegeukgi Hanging Certification’ proposed by the campaign speaker, ‘Romang’, a history education talent donation club in the Department of History at Konkuk University. We propose easy participation actions to express the joy of the liberation of the country and to raise awareness about hoisting the national flag. Until August 15th, you can attach a Taegeukgi sticker to your personal profile through your KakaoTalk profile settings, or verify a photo showing the Taegeukgi at your home or office.
When participating in each mission, Kakao donates 815 won per certification to the descendants of independence fighters.
In addition, a fundraising campaign is also underway on the Kakao Together Value website. Habitat Korea also participated, and the funds raised will be used to improve the residential environment of descendants of independence fighters. When a user writes a comment at the bottom of the fundraising campaign page, cheers, or shares it, Kakao donates 815 won, and it is also possible to donate the amount directly to the fundraising box.
Kang Seung-won, head of the Kakao Together Value Team, said, “As a citizen of the Republic of Korea, we ask for a lot of participation and interest from users in this campaign, which contains the meaning of reflecting on the noble and precious values of liberation.” He added, “There will be various ways for users to easily participate in the future.” “We will present a unique participatory campaign.”
Meanwhile, Everyone’s Action, introduced last June, is a new project of Kakao Together Value that allows people to participate in solving social problems through small actions in their daily lives. It is a voluntary participation method in which users support the campaign with others by sharing campaign information carried out in the project or performing and certifying related actions. A new campaign is launched every month with the idea that the small actions of individuals can bring about change in society.
