Healthcare startup Predictive (CEO Sa-Joong Yoon) introduced a digital twin solution based on genome analysis at the ‘Naver D2SF Media Meet-up’ held at the Naver D2SF office located in Seocho-gu, Seoul on the 17th.

Predictive is a North American startup that has developed a solution to simulate the possibility of disease and drug sensitivity by creating a digital twin containing genome analysis information. It has a competitive advantage in terms of analysis scope and accuracy, and currently predicts sensitivities to over 22,500 diseases and over 780 drugs by analyzing over 20,000 genes using fingernail sampling.

A digital twin is an avatar that contains an individual’s DNA information and can prescribe drugs that match the DNA for a disease. In addition, congenital disease risk information can be identified, and drug risk information can also be collected, thereby reducing side effects from medications in the future.

In addition, medical records can be stored, which has the advantage of allowing medical staff to provide treatment immediately without having to undergo special tests at the medical site. It is also possible to distinguish which drugs among an individual’s genes are toxic.

Currently, Predictive has created over 130 digital twins and has promoted national-scale projects in Saudi Arabia and the UAE. It was also selected for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)’s iTech program.

Sa-joong Yoon, CEO of Predictive, said, “If the genes do not match during transplant surgery, the failure rate increases by 80%. However, if genetic information is known in advance, the probability of transplant failure can be lowered. “In this way, genes are very important in maintaining health, prevention, and treatment.”

He continued, “Because our company is a Silicon Valley startup and has already entered the Arab world, we believe that a group type of digital twin is possible in Korea based on that experience. “By analyzing universal genes according to each person’s environment, we can analyze and predict diseases that come from the environment.”

Meanwhile, Naver D2SF held the ‘Naver D2SF Media Meetup’ for the second time this year, where technology startups invested by D2SF directly presented their technological capabilities and showed demos. At the media meetup on this day, Gaudio Lab and GEMotion, immersive technology startups that recently invested following Gaji Lab and Predictive, introduced their future business growth plans and synergy results with Naver.
