The Gyeonggi Creative Economy Innovation Center (hereinafter referred to as ‘Gyeonggi Innovation Center’), the operating organization of the Pangyo Startup Zone, announced that it successfully held the ‘6th Startup 815’ held at the Startup Zone on the 25th.
Startup 815 is an investment attraction program conducted every month by the Gyeonggi Innovation Center in collaboration with the Gyeonggi Regional Small and Medium Venture Business Administration, Gachon University, and Suwon University. Every month, we plan to discover excellent startups in Gyeonggi-do and provide companies with opportunities to promote their businesses and attract investment.
The event on this day consisted of three parts: ▲Global track for those wishing to advance into the global market and attract investment ▲Scale-up track for start-ups less than 7 years old ▲Jump-up track for start-ups less than 3 years old. In addition, the companies selected for each track were promising companies in Gyeonggi-do and had IR pitching and networking sessions to attract investment.
In the global track, ▲’Tessa’ (art sculpture investment platform) ▲’Before Play’ (game discovery platform) ▲’AnyEye’ (Alpha Kitchen (robot kitchen): automation of hamburger production using artificial intelligence and robots) participated and developed their own Core technologies and vision were presented through IR pitching in English.
Simsan Ventures, 541 Ventures, and Mind the Bridge participated as judges, and overseas companies such as Farquhar Capital discovered and invested in promising Korean startups online. VC review team participated.
The scale-up track includes ▲’DK Eco Farm’ (smart farm environmental control system ‘Farm Toss’) ▲’Studio MetaK’ (virtual human relay platform ‘Vernecting’) ▲’Alpha Bridge’ (investment platform ‘Tango Pick’) participated and introduced its core technology and vision.
Professional VC reviewers such as Wonik Investment Partners, NextG Investment, Smilegate Investment, K2 Investment Partners, and Signite Partners participated as reviewers.
In the jump-up track, ▲’Eduson’ (English learning through Metaverse) ▲’Nao Now’ (English education platform by native speakers from the Ivy League) ▲’Liz Healthcare’ (AI and big data-based) Health functional food shopping platform) ▲’Bookers’ (subscription-type reading specialized platform service) announced.
Professional AC judges such as Angel Partners, Korea Bio Investment Partners, Blue Point Partners, Infobank, and Big Bang Angels participated as judges.
After the companies’ IR pitching, feedback from investment experts was provided, and follow-up networking continued for practical investment connections.
Startup 815 is held on the last Thursday of every month, and the 7th session will recruit applicants from integrated fields for approximately two weeks from Monday, August 29 to Tuesday, September 13.
Meanwhile, the Startup Zone is Korea’s largest startup support cluster, established in 2017 by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups to intensively foster promising startups in new industries, and jointly operated by the Startup Promotion Agency and the Gyeonggi Creative Economy Innovation Center.
