Kakao Enterprise unveiled ‘Kakao i Connect Live 2.0’, a live streaming service that strengthens artificial intelligence (AI) technology and allows a large number of people to access and interact simultaneously, on the 26th.
As non-face-to-face culture becomes the new normal, video and audio streaming experiences are moving from one-way to interactive experiences in which many people participate together. Kakao Enterprise has strengthened the AI technology-based interactive elements and scalability of the existing Kakao i Connect Live so that a large number of users can participate in real-time online events in a variety of ways.
The number of people that can be accommodated during live broadcasts has doubled from 1,000 to 2,000. The video conference capacity increased from 100 to 500 people, and chatting became possible from 100 to 1,000 people. It not only maintains the previously supported 0.5 second latency even for large-scale connections of thousands of people, but also supports a more stable connection by guaranteeing a connection success rate of over 99%.
In addition, even if a large number of people connect at the same time, the function that detects a small number of audio channels allows the user to recognize active speakers who are having meaningful conversations, making it possible to have more natural voice conversations.
Convenience and efficiency in terms of development have also improved. Kakao i Connect Live 2.0 integrates the three SDKs, which were previously separated into calls, broadcasting, and conferencing, into one, allowing developers to use one-on-one (1:1) meetings, one-to-many (1:N) broadcasting, and We support the development of various services such as N:N meetings. In addition, the existing single rate plan was expanded to four plans depending on the size of the company so that even small businesses and developers can start developing a live streaming platform without burden.
In addition, it provides various statistical information so that managers can gain insight from data beyond simple monitoring of events. Companies can now receive information such as usage time for individual streaming, number of participants, average participation time, users by browser, and users by operating system from the console and use it as business analysis indicators.
Kakao Enterprise plans to provide a subtitle function with separate speakers based on the industry’s best natural language and Korean language processing technology and sequentially release various virtual screen settings, live streaming screen mixing and recording functions within the year. In addition, we plan to further enhance the platform so that companies and developers can provide live streaming in games and metaverse-type services along with various functions.
Jinho Choi, head of Kakao Enterprise Connect Live, said, “By combining Kakao Enterprise’s own global level AI technology and real-time live streaming technology, we were able to realize Kakao i Connect Live 2.0, which allows thousands of people to interact simultaneously.” He added, “Kakao i Connect Live 2.0. “is a service that has already verified its technology and stability through Kakao Work video conferencing, webinars, and voice chat, which are directly used by Kakao Enterprise,” he explained.
He continued, “We plan to work harder to enhance our service to satisfy the needs of customers who want performance and fun elements similar to those of large-scale simultaneous access role-playing games (RPGs) for real-time live streaming events.”
