Kakao Enterprise created a win-win logistics model by connecting food tech startup ‘Fresh Code’ and kitchen appliance brand ‘Sous Chef Jeongin’ through AI-based logistics platform ‘Kakao i LaaS’.
Fresh Code is a fresh food business that sells salads and operates its own logistics center in downtown Seoul. As we started a new third-party logistics business as well as our own logistics, we needed to secure shippers efficiently, so we introduced Kakao i Las, which connects shippers and member companies based on AI technology.
Kakao i Lass contributed to the initial establishment of Fresh Code’s new business by connecting Fresh Code with various shippers, including Sous Chef Jeong In. Fresh Code not only connects shippers, but also utilizes Kakao iLas’ logistics management solution to gain insight into overall logistics operations, including first-in-first-out, inventory, and settlement.
Lee Jun-hyeon, COO of Freshcode, said, “Previously, it was difficult to verify the productivity of logistics because we did not use a logistics management solution, but after introducing Kakao i Las, it became easier to attract shippers, and we were able to solve logistics operations at once through a logistics management solution. “It’s done.”
Sous Chef Jeongin is a comprehensive luxury kitchen appliance brand that leads the healthy food culture and is currently expanding its franchise business to include Sudo Nut, Sous Chef Chicken, and Sous Cafe. With the increasing number of franchise stores and logistics volume, we started looking for a logistics agency, but it was not easy to find a member company that matched Sous Chef Jeong In’s product requirements. Sous Chef Jeong In introduced Kakao i Las, which has various member companies, and was connected to Fresh Code that fits the company’s product requirements.
Sous Chef Jeong-in gained visibility into overall logistics, including orders, inventory, and logistics cost settlement, through Kakao i Las’s logistics management solution, and was able to operate more efficiently by collecting franchise store orders and automatically requesting shipment from the Fresh Code warehouse. . She is also able to understand the flow of logistics based on data by leveraging various order and inventory-related insights.
Park Sun-bin, director of Sous Chef Jeong-in, said, “Business decisions have become easier as Kakao i Las has made it possible to view the overall logistics through a clean UI and data.”
The meeting between the two companies went beyond a simple connection between member companies and shippers and led to a true logistics win-win model based on Kakao i Las. Fresh Code has sold Fresh Code’s salad items to the franchise store of sous chef Jeong-in, whom the company met through a shipping company, and is creating new business with other partners based on this model. Sous Chef Jeong In also received a new business opportunity by introducing Fresh Code’s items as one of the company’s product lines.
Kim Won-tae, head of Kakao Enterprise’s LaaS business division, said, “This Fresh Code and Sous Chef Jeong-in case is an opportunity to create a better logistics ecosystem that can win-win with Kakao Enterprise’s partner ‘LaaS Front Runners’.” “It is a valuable example created by focusing on the goal,” he said. “We hope that more shippers and member companies will be able to connect and gain business insights based on Kakao iLas.”
