From paper books, e-books, and audiobooks to ‘online classes,’ the creative stage for brunch writers has expanded.
It was reported that Kakao’s content publishing platform Brunch has provided a new creative stage called ‘AI VOD Class’ to Brunch writers. The plan is to expand the brunch ecosystem from paper books, e-books, and audiobooks to online classes, and actively support the creative activities of writers.
Last February, Kakao conducted the ‘Brunch Book AI Class Project’ with the online class platform ‘Class 101’. This is a contest that supports writers to produce brunch books they personally planned and completed as AI VOD classes. The advantage is that online classes can be held using artificial intelligence (AI) voice technology without the need for writers to appear, produce, or edit themselves. Over a month-long application period, approximately 3,500 brunch books were submitted, of which 8 were finally selected and made into a class.
Kakao has supported a wide range of creative activities of creators through brunch. Brunch provided various opportunities for writers to expand their secondary works, including paper book, e-book, and audiobook publishing projects, crowdfunding, and OTT (online video platform) storyteller contests. The ‘Brunch Book AI Class Project’ attracted attention in that it created a unique creative outlet for brunch writers.
The winning entries are ▲Practical insights into data science learned from global companies ▲The world of ETFs, from introductory to advanced and completed in Hankyu ▲Memos change your life! Everything about notes ▲Just saying something differently can change your life! Self-esteem conversation method I learned thanks to my foreign husband ▲Office workers, do your accounting! The class can be purchased and viewed on the ‘Brunch Book AI Class Project Page’ on the Class 101 website and app.
Oh Seong-jin, head of Kakao’s story planning department, said, “We are happy to be able to connect brunch writers and readers by providing a new creative outlet called AI VOD.” He added, “We will continue to actively support Wonseok’s Brunch Book so that it can be reborn into various secondary works.” He said.
Meanwhile, Kakao is carrying out the ‘10th Brunch Book Publishing Project’. This is a project to publish Brunch Book as a paper book in collaboration with a leading domestic publishing company. Celebrating the 10th anniversary, the award benefits and scale have been significantly increased compared to before, providing publication opportunities to a total of 50 authors and providing a total of 90 million won in prize money.
