Korea Deep Learning Co., Ltd., an artificial intelligence (AI) software specialist company, recently announced that it is developing ‘medical chart image data processing and AI OCR model’ through cooperation with Boum Inc.

The two companies were jointly selected for the ‘2022 Data Voucher Support Project’ and formed a consortium to cooperate. The data voucher support project is a system in which the government provides support in the form of vouchers so that demand companies can receive the data and technology they need from supply companies.

The consortium plans to present a solution that simply claims insurance by analyzing medical charts through artificial intelligence. By using a kiosk to support video connection with a counselor, users can experience simplified personal insurance claims by automatically preparing claim documents appropriate for the content through AI.

Korea Deep Learning used its core technology ‘DEEP OCR’ in this ‘medical chart image data processing and AI OCR model’. This technology is an OCR (Optical Character Recognition) solution that promotes ‘smart OCR that thinks like a human’.

As it is a technology that helps users access it easily even without knowledge of artificial intelligence, it is expected to help greatly simplify the existing complicated claim procedures that must be performed by humans, such as verifying documents. When making a claim after the first time, the insurance claim can be completed in about 10 seconds.

An official from Boum I&C, a company specializing in insurance claim solutions, said, “The use rate of existing insurance claim solutions is significantly low among the middle-aged and elderly,” and added, “We will improve the quality of life for all generations with a ‘human connection kiosk’ that allows direct conversation with a counselor.” “It was reported.

Kim Ji-hyun, CEO of Korea Deep Learning, said, “Our DEEP OCR is a technology that recognizes large amounts of documents such as logistics documents, as well as unstructured documents such as shopping mall detail pages.” He added, “It is a more accurate and simple solution than existing procedures, so it can be used by all customers, insurance companies, and medical institutions. “It will satisfy,” he said.

Meanwhile, Korea Deep Learning has been recognized for its core technology ‘DEEP OCR’ and has been selected for the 2022 KB Unicorn Club jointly run by the Gyeonggi Creative Economy Innovation Center and KB Kookmin Bank, and is receiving support for a customized accelerating program. 22 tasks were selected in the 2022 Data Voucher Support Project.
