Spring Cloud signed a contract with the Korea Automobile Research Institute for shuttle (KAMO)-based autonomous driving technology support and research and development.
This research and development contract between SpringCloud, a company specializing in self-driving mobility services, and the Korea Automobile Research Institute is centered on the development and technical support of KAMO-based self-driving shuttles. In addition, we plan to continue research on control procedure education and training for this shuttle, as well as troubleshooting and maintenance of the shuttle. Spring Cloud and Korea Automobile Research Institute jointly carry out research and development tasks to develop autonomous driving technology, and include technical information and intellectual property rights.
The contents of research and development with the Korea Automobile Research Institute include: ▲Provision of KAMO on-vehicle information and sensor information (GPS, LIDAR, video information, etc.) ▲KAMO motion control I/F engineering (CAN-based control procedure training and development support) ▲Power specifications and There is provision of system engineering necessary for KAMO-based autonomous driving development, such as network configuration.
SpringCloud CEO Song Young-ki said, “We plan to enter the global market based on the technology and experience we have built domestically,” and added, “Furthermore, we plan to expand into various experiential facilities such as startup campus, mobility zone, smart farm zone, and flying zone, as well as open complex cultural facilities. “We will strive to develop content together with related companies, research institutes, and service users.”
Park Seon-hong, a senior researcher at the Autonomous Driving Research Center at the Korea Automobile Research Institute, said, “Going forward, through the partnership between the two companies, we will contribute to achieving the national autonomous driving policy goal by increasing the technological competitiveness of the domestic automobile industry and autonomous driving mobility industry.”
Meanwhile, Spring Cloud is a company specializing in self-driving mobility solutions and provides self-driving mobility services and data analysis services based on artificial intelligence. In addition, ‘Multiverse Planet (MVP), a citizen experience-type self-driving mobility theme park’, is being operated within Yeosu Expo, where Spring Cloud’s technology can be seen in one place.
