AhnLab announced that its OT security subsidiary Naonworks (CEO Jun-kyung Lee) won the ‘Internet of Things’ award at the ‘AIoT Week Korea IoT Awards 2022’ hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and organized by the Korea Intelligent Internet Association on the 19th. It was reported that he received a commendation from the Minister of Science and ICT for his contribution to revitalization.

The ‘Ministry of Science and ICT Minister’s Commendation for Contribution to the Activation of the Internet of Things’ is an award given to persons and organizations who have contributed to the development of policies, technologies, and industry to revitalize the Internet of Things field in order to foster the domestic Internet of Things industry.

Naonworks received recognition for its contribution to revitalizing the domestic Internet of Things sector by developing technologies and solutions for smooth communication, data collection, and monitoring between objects such as sensors in the Internet of Things environment.

Currently, the Internet of Things technology developed by Naonworks is being used in various fields, including being applied to the ‘Validation of elevator smart maintenance service based on diagnostic and prediction technology’ project supported by the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA).

Joon-kyung Lee, CEO of Naonworks, said, “Naonworks has applied its own IoT technology to a variety of industrial environments, from logistics and transportation to smart cities, factories, and charging stations,” and added, “Naonworks’ unique technology makes it more convenient in the expanding Internet of Things market.” “We will do our best to provide a safe environment.”

Meanwhile, AhnLab acquired Naonworks in July last year to secure technological expertise and business synergy in the OT security field. The two companies are continuing joint research and development, including launching ‘CEREBRO-IDS’, an OT visibility and threat detection monitoring solution that combines Naonworks’ OT protocol analysis technology and AhnLab’s security threat analysis technology in October this year. .
