AhnLab was the first domestic information security company to publish a corporate governance report. Although there is no obligation to disclose corporate governance under the current disclosure regulations, AhnLab prepared a corporate governance report and disclosed it on its website as part of internalizing ESG management.
AhnLab voluntarily decided to publish and disclose this corporate governance report in order to protect the rights and interests of investors and increase management transparency through genuine communication with stakeholders, including shareholders, executives and employees, customers, and partners.
The corporate governance report was written to explain the 10 core principles selected by the Korea Exchange, and includes information on shareholder rights, the composition and operation of the board of directors, and the audit body.
In December 2021, AhnLab established the Sustainability Management Team, a dedicated ESG organization, and is working to internalize ESG management and is striving to maintain a sound governance structure, such as maintaining the ratio of outside directors to more than half.
Kim Deok-hwan, head of AhnLab’s financial planning department, said, “We plan to continue to disclose corporate governance reports in the future in order to publicize and maintain AhnLab’s sound governance structure,” and added, “If necessary, starting next year, in addition to disclosing the website, we plan to also disclose it in line with the disclosure schedules of other listed corporations. “We are also reviewing it,” he said.
