Krafton Co., Ltd. announced that it was awarded the ‘Billion Dollar Export Tower’ in 2022 on the 59th anniversary of ‘Trade Day’ hosted by the Korea International Trade Association and hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
The ‘Export Tower’ is an award given to companies that have contributed to the improvement of national export competitiveness and industrial development, and Krafton won the third export tower up to the 1 billion dollar tower, following 600 million dollars in 2018 and 800 million dollars in 2021. . In particular, it was the only game company to record $1 billion in exports this year, showing its strength as a global game company with overseas sales accounting for 94%.
Krafton CEO Kim Chang-han said, “Winning the Billion Dollar Export Tower is a result of recognition that content such as Battlegrounds has greatly contributed to the national economy and industrial development.” He added, “Krafton is a global mega IP based on its game production and publishing capabilities. “We will continue to discover and expand to raise the status of the Korean gaming industry.”
Meanwhile, Krafton has been developing customized strategies for each platform, service, and region to meet the expectations of global users, focusing on its flagship game ‘PUBG: Battlegrounds (hereinafter referred to as Battlegrounds)’, which is being serviced in more than 200 countries around the world.
‘Battleground’ has maintained growth with the continued influx of new users since switching to free-to-play in January of this year, and ‘Battleground Mobile’, which has been released for over 4 years, is also providing fresh gameplay experiences to users through IP collaboration and new map releases.
