Kakao Enterprise announced a case of win-win cooperation with the domestic startup ecosystem by utilizing DT (Digital Transformation) technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud and corporate know-how.
In June last year, Kakao Enterprise joined hands with KDB Korea Development Bank to operate the ‘Win-Win Boost-Up Program’ to support startups’ digital transformation and improvement of business infrastructure. At the time, free credit was provided to 20 startups among KDB’s investment companies to use Kakao i Cloud.
‘C&Tech’, a developer and operator of financial institution movable collateral management services that provides ‘WEISER movable asset management (control) solution’ and ‘WEISER QR asset management solution’, expressed high satisfaction, saying that it was now able to provide high-quality services.
‘WEISER personal property management (control) solution’ is a service that attaches IoT devices to personal property to determine the location and damage identification of factory machinery and equipment, which are collateral for bank loans, in real time. When an asset terminal detects a risky situation and sends a real-time emergency message to the platform, the platform determines the level of risk and goes through a process of notifying the control agent. In order to process the process more accurately and quickly, we migrated from the existing third-party cloud to Kakao i Cloud’s Kubernetes environment, which can process large amounts of information.
Kakao i Cloud’s Kubernetes environment makes platform capacity expansion easier and more convenient. ‘C&Tech’ previously moved resources to manual work, but after using Kakao i Cloud, the time it took to expand platform capacity was 300% faster, increasing efficiency and error recovery time was reduced by half.
ICON, a company that provides construction management services in the form of SaaS (Service as a software), said that it received great help in reducing infrastructure costs and providing highly efficient services. ‘Icon’ used Kakao i Cloud for ‘Carsworks’, Icon’s AI platform that analyzes CCTV at construction sites to monitor fires and check whether workers are wearing safety helmets in real time.
An official from ‘Icon’ said, “We used Kakao i Cloud for AI technology learning and analysis to enhance the AI safety management function of the ‘Cars Works’ platform. “Previously, it took at least two days to learn data, but using Kakao i Cloud, it was completed in half a day, which was efficient,” he said. “It was a great help in business operations as we were able to reduce infrastructure costs, which are burdensome for startups.” He said. Kakao i Cloud’s outstanding GPU performance shortens the learning time for data processing and analysis.
‘Medility’, the developer of ‘Feel-i’, an AI-based pill counting and management app, was able to quickly learn a deep learning model that explores images thanks to the high GPU performance of Kakao i Cloud. Mediility said that it moved all resources from the existing cloud environment to the Kakao i Cloud environment, learned the core images of the entire service, and reflected them stably in the service.
