Nanoweather, a weather and climate solution developer, announced on the 2nd that it has implemented an improved prototype of the pinpoint weather information service ‘Wesolver’ to enable real-time high-resolution service.

Nanoweather is a company located in the Pangyo Startup Zone, established by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and operated by the Startup Promotion Agency and the Gyeonggi Creative Economy Innovation Center. Composed of scholars from the field of atmospheric science, it is developing low-cost, high-efficiency weather information detailing technology and provides specialized weather information to various industrial fields such as smart cities, transportation, and agriculture.

WeSolver has now been improved to provide various weather information such as precipitation, wind, and temperature by hour at a resolution of up to 10m when the user selects the desired location on the map. Compared to the existing demo service, the resolution has been increased by 10,000 times, and various weather information can be provided in real time.

NanoWeather CEO Oh Jae-ho said, “Once this technology is serviced, real-time high-resolution weather information can be used in AI technology fields such as drones, unmanned cars, and digital twins.” He added, “As it is a technology that continuously consumes computational resources, it will be available as soon as possible.” “We will do our best to reach the stabilization stage and provide it to as many people as possible,” he said.

NanoWeather is continuously developing related technologies to provide pinpoint, real-time, high-resolution weather information. Last December, we succeeded in simulating a 10m resolution wind field.

Meanwhile, NanoWeather provides real-time domestic weather information through WeSolver on its website.
