-Strengthening global test bed, 3D production incubation room, and interpretation and translation services exclusively for startup zone companies
-Pangyo Startup Zone, revitalizing the start-up ecosystem and intensively nurturing promising start-ups in new industries
The Gyeonggi Creative Economy Innovation Center (hereinafter referred to as ‘Gyeonggi Innovation Center’), the operating agency of the Pangyo Startup Zone, announced on the 5th that it has begun ‘2021 Startup Zone Support Infrastructure Operation’ in earnest.
Pangyo Startup Zone is a start-up support cluster established in 2017 by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and jointly operated by the Korea Startup Promotion Agency and the Gyeonggi Innovation Center. The goal is to revitalize the startup ecosystem and intensively foster promising entrepreneurs in new industries. There are over 130 startups, investment companies, and cooperative organizations in each field.
The Gyeonggi Innovation Center has recently significantly strengthened the Pangyo Startup Zone support infrastructure functions, including a global test bed, interpretation and translation support center, and 3D production incubator.
First, about 50 additional smart devices were prepared for the global test bed. The Pangyo Startup Zone Global Testbed has supported the development of new services by small and medium-sized app development companies and startups by continuously securing the latest smart devices. Additional supply will be supported through quarterly demand surveys.
Starting this year, companies in the startup zone will be able to receive Spanish interpretation and translation services at the Interpretation and Translation Support Center. The Interpretation and Translation Support Center supports the global expansion of tenant companies through interpretation and translation services in a total of four languages, including English, Chinese, Japanese, and the newly added Spanish. Professional interpreters and translators are on site, and online services such as video interpretation and non-face-to-face application/reception are also provided.
The 3D production incubation room is also ready to support the smooth product development and commercialization of tenant companies, including product development consulting, commercialization design and design, and prototype production. Reverse engineering and verification services using 3D scanning equipment are also provided.
In accordance with the implementation of social distancing, the Gyeonggi Innovation Center is constantly implementing regular quarantine and self-quarantine through a professional quarantine company. Any company residing in the start-up zone can apply for this support infrastructure through the online website (www.pangyozone.or.kr).
Recruitment of companies to enter the startup zone is ongoing, and detailed information can be found on the website.
Meanwhile, the Gyeonggi Innovation Center plans to open a venue for active exchanges such as tech seminars, networking, and related education based on the infrastructure services of the Pangyo Startup Zone this year. An official at the Gyeonggi Innovation Center said, “We will do our best to maximize startup performance not only through infrastructure but also through practical, helpful support projects.”
