    Heo Seok, mayor of Suncheon, South Jeolla Province, recently visited the headquarters of NHN Co., Ltd. located in Pangyo Techno Valley and said, “Suncheon City will create a future new industrial ecosystem with the attraction of the NHN Cloud Data Center as a driving force.”

    Mayor Heo’s visit on this day was arranged to discuss ways to create a 4th industry ecosystem following the signing of an investment agreement worth 300 billion won by NHN Enterprise Co., Ltd. on March 31 to create a public cloud data center in Suncheon. .

    Mayor Heo said, “Securing data means securing key future growth resources,” and added, “Through communication and cooperation with NHN Enterprise, we will create a future new industry that will lead the 4th Industrial Revolution based on data, which is the core of the Digital New Deal. “We will foster it,” he said.

    At the meeting that day, NHN said, “We will proceed with the informatization strategic plan centered on 22 cities and counties in Jeollanam-do by August, and then proceed with the project in line with performance performance and government direction.”

    In addition, it plans to expand its business while considering collaboration with other metropolitan governments in the future, and unlike the Gimhae or Pangyo data centers, it announced that it will actively cooperate with Suncheon City to create Korea’s first public cloud data center.

    The cloud data center that NHN is building in Suncheon will function as a big data hub for companies and public institutions leading the 4th industry by collecting, storing, and analyzing various data such as Jeonnam’s unique manufacturing, agricultural and livestock industries, smart farms, and new and renewable energy. will be performed.

    In particular, it has been designated as a public data center by the government and will proactively respond to information system transfers in Jeollanam-do, 22 cities, counties, and public institutions.

    Kim Dong-hoon, CEO of NHN Enterprise, said, “NHN will do its best to build a competitive public cloud data center by actively cooperating with Suncheon City and South Jeolla Province based on cloud technology and know-how.” He added, “The introduction and conversion of cloud technology is rapidly accelerating, especially in the public sector. “I will do my best to make it happen,” he said.
