Afact announced on the 14th that it will open a sales office in Pangyo, Gyeonggi-do and pursue system semiconductor back-end processing business in earnest. Afact plans to begin full-scale system semiconductor back-end process business through a sales office located in Pangyo Innovation Valley, Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do. We plan to actively pursue orders by deploying dedicated sales personnel and engineers. Afact has already been communicating with major fabless companies since February. Positive discussions are currently taking place with several companies. We are aiming to receive orders in the second half of the year. While the memory semiconductor outsourcing business centered on SK Hynix remains stable, it is expected that the overall growth will further accelerate if system semiconductor back-end processes are added. It already has capabilities in the system semiconductor back-end process business.
Afact has completed the construction of a second factory in Eumseong-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do, consisting of approximately 2,000 pyeong on the first floor and approximately 1,500 pyeong on the second floor. It is evaluated that the company has a clean room infrastructure, a core facility that can sufficiently respond to the production of system semiconductor products immediately. An official from Afact said, “We will expand the company’s business area from the existing memory back-end process to the system semiconductor area to become a comprehensive semiconductor back-end process company,” adding, “As we are already in discussions with a number of companies, we plan to establish our position as soon as possible.” “I’m looking forward to it,” he said.
