Naver, together with CJ Logistics, set out to establish a ‘nationwide fast delivery service’ centered on Naver Smart Store sellers. By expanding the fulfillment center, we are seeking to secure a variety of delivery systems, such as same-day delivery and early morning delivery as well as next-day delivery. The goal is to beat Coupang, a fast-growing e-commerce rival, based on delivery competitiveness.
According to Naver and CJ Logistics on the 21st, both companies plan to establish an additional fulfillment center of more than 200,000 pyeong, following the Gonjiam, Gunpo, and Yongin fulfillment centers that have been operated mainly through the existing Naver Smart Store.
The fulfillment center being newly built by both companies plans to be used as a smart logistics base based on next-generation future technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), robots, and cloud.
We plan to build a logistics data solution control tower based on Naver’s AI technology, Clova, to further advance logistics demand forecasting, while speeding up the expansion of fulfillment and delivery services by applying AI technology to overall logistics processes such as warehouse allocation and automatic stocking reservations. am.
Through this, the goal is to expand the next-day delivery service currently provided by Naver Brand Store to 460,000 smart stores starting next year. In particular, we plan to expand related infrastructure to enable same-day and early morning delivery for product groups with high user needs for fast delivery, such as daily necessities and fresh food.
Through this collaboration, Naver recently established NFA, a data-based fulfillment platform, to help smart store sellers select and plan logistics methods according to their business type, and has also improved the delivery speed of products such as next-day delivery and same-day delivery. The province has now secured a foundation for rapid expansion across the country.
Naver plans to continue to support sellers in diversifying their delivery services to suit various product characteristics, including not only fast delivery, but also preferred date delivery and premium delivery. The previous day, Naver began experimenting with premium delivery in partnership with ‘Valex’, a special logistics company.
We plan to increase eco-friendliness by replacing all packaging and plastic materials, such as cushioning materials, buffer pads, and box tape, with paper. In addition, we plan to apply technology to prevent overpackaging by automatically recommending and producing the optimal box according to the size and bundle unit of the product ordered by the customer, measuring the space inside the box, and automatically adding cushioning material.
Naver business development leader Kim Pyeong-song said, “By strongly combining CJ Logistics’ logistics infrastructure capabilities and Naver’s future technology, we will innovate technology throughout the logistics process so that small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can develop more diverse and unique businesses. “I will achieve this,” he said.
